Vintage Guitar Magizine Review
I am a musican and guitar maker and have found Vintage Guitar Magazine to be one of the best in the market for both serious collectors and players as well as people just interested in guitars. It covers a cross section of the market with new technology ads as well as established companies, features on a cross section of musicans, and a classfied ad section with top end guitars. It is worth checking out.

The Best
Undoubtedly the best of the guitar magazines out there: Incredible articles, great photos, fascinating information... Unlike other magazines, the Layout is top-notch (you don't wonder where the article ends and the ads start). The writing is suberb and they cover everyone; educated adults writing for the same about something they love and are passionate about. What a magazine should be...

best parlor guitar series under $1000
I saw this in my local guitar shop and the looks stopped me in my tracks--and I usually don't value the appearance of a guitar very much. It's all about opinion, but I consider this simple look honest and stunning. I picked it up, and within thirty seconds knew I was leaving the store with it. Seriously.Warm, woody, rich, and delicate tone. Not like any guitar I've ever played before. Surprising amount of volume can be coaxed out of it, it responds so well to a light touch, then gives you more and more as you demand it. Small, comfortable to hold. I love the v-shaped neck, I adjusted to it immediately. This guitar just has so much character, both physically and sonically. I personally love the distressed appearance. The vintage-design tuners work fine. This is my go-to instrument for a lot of fingerstyle, I avoid taking a pick to it.I will play this thing until I die. It will look particularly good on my when I'm old and crumbly.

Comfortable playing guitar
I was very happy with this guitar. Good quality regarding the edge and joining work and I actually like the "vintage" look of the finish. I had been looking for a parlor (under $1000) but was hesitant about buying this online because of the wider V neck. I finally decided to just go for it and am very happy with my decision. It is much easier to find the string for finger picking and chording and while the neck is a little wider across the fretboard, it is also narrower in neck depth. I have slightly smaller (but still manly) hands and have not problem quickly forming bar chords up and down the neck. The action is fairly low and almost reminds me of my electric. As far as sound goes, it is a small guitar and I have light strings on it. Probably wouldn't be the best for putting on a concert but for leaning back and playing on the couch, it is perfect.

Beautiful
I love this guitar. I checked the guitar for fret buzzing. No buzzing at all. That was my first criteria.I then checked the sound. It was pretty good. That was my second criteria. Then I played for a while. I loved it. Things you should know: The neck is V shaped and wider than an Acoustic Guitar but not as wide as a Classic Guitar; G7th performance capo works fine because it has wedges on the curved part; It's very light; looks pretty good; the sound is very good I was actually surprised; it was made in Indonesia. I'm not a technical guy regarding guitars. I just got a very good model. Some guitar's stores have it. If you are too crazy about buying a Guitar online try it at your local store first. I took a chance!

Marginal
I bought this and at the same time. I should have saved my money on this one. I was looking at Schechter guitars and this book had a brief paragraph covering them, with no model-specific information at all. The much-thicker, much more comprehensive has 8 pages or so of model-specific information. On the other hand, there seems to be some areas that are covered by one that are omitted by the other. If you're a collector and really need information, the only good solution is to own most or all of the valuation books out there, so this...

Totally awesome book for guitar lovers
I bought this as a gift for a friend since I had been given a copy a year ago. For anyone who truly appreciates guitar music and the legendary instruments played by the artists who create great music, this book is a treasure. I've read Kellerman's mystery novels and his love of the guitar is suggested in those books, but this collection is truly amazing. The photographic and written documentary of each instrument in this book is unique. Each guitar is described in detail, along with it's pedigree and a wealth of information about the craftsmen who created them. If you're looking for a gift to give to a musician friend, look no further.

The transcendence of Craftsmenship & Art
This beautifully written & photographed book uniquely captures the magical qualities that can be found in fine instruments. It has taken a fine writer & relentless collector to articulate the visceral response that a guitar can evoke. Masterfully done! I know players that would simply say: Yeah man, what he said.

Product Description

For thirty-five years, bestselling author and accomplished musician Jonathan Kellerman has been, as he puts it in his Introduction to this lavishly illustrated, endlessly fascinating volume, “chasing fabulous sound.” The result of that quest is a world-class collection of guitars, mandolins, and other stringed instruments that number more than 120 . . . and counting.

Kellerman takes us on a fascinating guided tour through his collection, complete with rich personal histories of his favorite instruments and of the brilliant, often eccentric craftsmen and musicians who brought them to life. It is a record of one man’s lifelong love affair with the guitar . . . and it is much, much more.

Whether writing about household names such as Fender, Gibson, Martin, and Dobro or about marques revered by aficionados–D’Angelico, Hauser, Stromberg, and Torres–Kellerman brings to bear the same sure storytelling instincts and keen attention to detail that characterize his bestselling fiction, making each entry a sparkling mini-essay as much to be savored as the sensual photographs that follow.

Your fingers won’t be walking through With Strings Attached. They’ll be strumming. Picking. Stroking.

And dancing. Top to learn more
