A dream come true (LJ Hutchen Silver C Flute)
I purchased from LJ Hutchen the C Silver Flute, to my greatest surprise it arrived the very next day I couldn't believe it, they deliver quite fast but most important, the flute is so beautiful, solid and sounds magnificent, I have been looking for a good instrument for sometime, and since flutes can be quite expensive I was thinking about buying a good used one. I read a lot before making a decision, getting a new inexpensive one was out of the question since it seemed, they all have the same problems like keys getting stuck or falling apart: loose keys. I highly recommend getting this brand, for few more dollars you get a brand new quality instrument which has a warranty of two years that is how certain they are about what they make. It comes ready to play, tuned. I am so happy with it and you will be too. I am truly thankful to them for making such gorgeous instruments and to the customers who take the time to give their opinion which at the end is the most valuable one...

Excellent value
I'm a 54 year old pianist that decided last year to take up the flute as a second instrument. Not being certain if I would really be interested in the long run, I did some research and decided on the LJ Hutchen as my first flute. I've had the flute a little over a year now and I'm very pleased. Not one problem and until recently I played this flute almost every day. The instrument was correctly regulated on receipt, all posts are mounted on ribs, the key action is still perfect, the pads are still in great shape and the finish is like new. I can't comment on repairs / adjustments because it hasn't needed any.I recently bought a Pearl 795RBE Coda for my move to an open hole flute. Considering that Pearl was 14+ times more expense than the LJ, the LJ holds up well in comparison. Highly recommended.

Flute
This flute is the best I have ever had. It took some adjusting to because I was used to using Yamaha. This flute is a strudy one and I hadn't had any problems with the flute since then. Also I'm in Middle School.

Great Instrument for price!
Instrument is wonderful. A pad under the far pinky came off which was not a big deal. My only issue with this package was the case. We've had the instrument since Sept, and the case is falling apart, a whole side came off already. Need to go out an purchase a new case, which is not cheap. Happy with the flute, just not with the case.

Monday, April 30 at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive. The ensemble also will perform Armando Torres Arellano’s “Aventurero,” assisted by UW-Green Bay students Mike Fowler (guitar), Ted Gloeckler (mandolin) and Kailey Mucha (flute). The UW-Green Bay Flute Ensemble, directed by Associate Lecturer Nancy Collins, will begin the program with three movements — “Stately,” “Minuetto” and “Rondo March” — of “Ceremonial Suite” by composer Kathleen Mayne. I have been looking at a 4th order crossover at 2000hz and the designs with the HiVi M6N look good - I have also been playing around with a silver flute w17rc38-08 or better yet w17rc38-s08. the silver flute looks to out perform the HiVi in ever spec.

If you are traveling with say a gold and silver flute, or a gold head joint/ silver flute, your wonderful agent will need to X-ray the darker colored metal. I've learned some other lessons while traveling with my personal flutes (I'll save the stories multiple flutes on business trips for later: don't want to make this too hair raising). Once Anne Sullivan and I were on tour, and I placed my black flute case in its black case cover on the black parking lot as we loaded the car. I also always travel with two flutes and simple repair tools: a multi tool (combo screw driver and spring hook) a rubber band ( very useful in case of trill key malfunctions) full cleaning supplies, a set of plugs, and pad cleaners. Ever since then I use a large bag to carry flutes, music and so on. Once dubbed "one helluva handbag" the progression of bags over the years have prevented another disaster. In the moments before the concert, I blew as much hot air (apparently I have lots of it) into my principal flute and after the first piece, had a lovely low register as long as I used the thumb Bb whenever possible,and pressed hard with the right... If traveling with more than one flute/piccolo, make sure the cases are not stacked. Then it hit me: the flutes were very cold from riding for 4 hours in the overhead compartment. A few precautions and knowing what to expect can make traveling with your precious flute much less harrowing. Lesson: never place the flute in the overhead compartment. I always travel with my flute in a gig bag or briefcase. All seemed fine until I opened up my double flute case, thought, hmmm, these seem cold. Arriving at the hotel 4 hours later, I realized my flute was not in the car. I stowed my flutes in the overhead compartment and settled in for the flight. " and she mimicked playing the flute.
