The One For Me
This is my second Seydel Harmonica, and I am quite pleased with it so far. It sounds nice and feels solid. It comes with a sleeve instead of a hard case, but I think it would take a lot of work to crush this. The shape of the harmonica is the most elegant I've played, though I haven't tried a Golden Melody yet. It fits well in the hand, and has tapered holes a bit further apart than in a Hohner that makes it a bit easier to play single notes. That said, I got this because I was impressed with the steel reeds in Seydel's Big Six. This lives up to those expectations in terms of sound quality, and I am not afraid I'll break a reed the first time I bend it. The 1^ rattled the first time I blew on it, but has sounded good ever since.I have a mustache, and this has never pulled on any hairs, there's much less space for them to get caught than in most harmonicas.Overall I am very pleased, and will consider this model again.

I need to laugh at the one other review--he's so right. I've had some hairs pulled from my mustache by this harp. Its not consistent, but it has happened. I agree with him that its kinda crummy that you get some little plastic or vinyl pouch for the Seydel. Its hardly gonna protect anything.------------------------I bought a couple used 'C' Marine bands from eBay. I like the Seydel('C') better. First, the front corners are rounded. Second, the Seydel uses a plastic comb, reducing any worries over wood that might swell, as on some harps.---------------I wonder if I should have bought Seydel's cheaper version, the same harp but without the fancy stainless steel reeds. I'm thinking maybe you could could get by with the Seydel Sessions without stainless steel reeds for half the price. Maybe later, if you wanted to, you could put stainless steel reeds into the cheaper version?Buying the cheaper version of the Seydel, without stainless reeds might be good...
