Best possible buy for beginners!
My fourth grade son started saxaphone this year and when looking at the cost of renting, we knew there had to be a better way. We got this sax in 2 days and brought it to his music teacher for approval. She was extremely skeptical when we told her what we paid for it. Once she played it however she was forced to eat her words. I know nothing about saxaphones but she said, "The sound is great, the action is great, it's certainly very nice to look at and its a little heavy (sounds to me like code for sturdy enough for a 9 year old boy)." So basically I bought my son a sax that easily passed muster with a skeptical music teacher that cost me less than renting one for 1 year. I don't think Kenng G would appreciate it but for a beginner, it is a no miss.

I was blown away..........
While in school, I played the alto saxophone for eight years. The day of my high school graduation, I played one last time with the band and haven't touched a saxophone since. Over the last ten years, I've started to regret that decision and begin to look online for a reasonable priced alto just to play around with. When I came across the Conductor Model 300 Alto Saxophone, I was completely blown away by the price and more then a little skeptical. After reading rave reviews, I decided to give it shot........I figured I could always return it if it was an inferior product. I received the saxophone in the mail yesterday and was completely delighted! The horn has a superior look and a great sound, it's even better then the one that I played all those years. I would highly recommend this instrument to anyone, it is well worth the money!

This sax plays excellent. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to buy a nice sax at an affordable price. It looks really nice and does not look or sound cheap at all.UPDATE: This sax has been working out perfectly during the time I've been using it. I just encountered a little problem and had to contact Customer Service for the problem to be solved. It was a wonderful experience; very nice people and they really care about their customers. The problem was solved fast so they shipped the sax fast too. I'm very satisfied with this product and Customer Service too. If you really want to buy a new affordable sax, i would go for this brand. Great instrument...
Great saxophone! I bought my LJ Hutchen sax about a year ago from a music store for a much higher price (I really kicked myself when I saw it here for so cheap!) I am buying another one for my nephew to play on for his school band this coming fall, and this time through Amazon! This sax has a clear sound and it really plays great. I know my nephew will love it!

Great product but...
Pros: 1. Great sound for the price. 2. Comes with everything you need to get started. 3. The case is well designed and feels sturdy. (Wish it had a lid/flap to close where you store your strap and other accessories.) 4. It arrived quickly and packed well.The reason for only three stars.Cons: 1. This saxophone is difficult if not impossible to play in tune. To the untrained ear this is no big deal. Certain notes are more out of tune than others. The worst note for me is c#. 2. Though it comes with everything you need to get started, to get the best sound you must replace the mouthpiece. The factory mouthpiece it comes with is horrible. I purchased one for about $65 at my local music store, the sax instantly became easier to play, and the sound was much better. (I was thinking about sending it back until I purchased the new mouthpiece.) 3. The strap is a factory strap, but again, if you plan to play long...

Love It!
I was very skeptical about this saxophone given that the price was so low, but once it had arrived and I tried it, I was really impressed on how it sounds. The octaves, particularly the low octaves are easy to play. Being a returning, intermediate saxophonist, I can say that this sax will definitely serve me for a long while. I didn't use the mouthpiece that it came with, and from other reviews about the included mouthpiece, I also suggest getting another mouthpiece if after having tested the included mouthpiece and you don't like how it sounds.

Great Sax for the price !!
Simply the fact that you can get this in just about any color, is a really big plus. Don't let the pictures fool you - this is not a plastic toy - it's 6 pounds. And if you find out that you can't play the sax, you've got a really good piece of art for the wall or shelf. That being said, I have the ability to be able to play by ear, and have piano skills. Couple this with the fact that I don't really like to read music, but wanted to see if I could play the sax, and, well, this won't be on my wall for a while. Basically, I don't know how to compare this to other saxophones, but it was priced right, and I figured I could sell it if I wasn't any good at it. Since I have some music skills in me already, I was fortunate enough to be able to play Happy Birthday, the entire tune, in about four, 30 minute practice sessions. If you wet the reed, and hold the sax correctly, you shouldn't get any squeaks - of course, you probably need some good lungs to help - smokers need not apply :)...

Great case for the cost
This is a good deal... I play sop and alto and was looking for a more convenient means of traveling with both. This case is just small enough to still get through security when flying and I am able to check this case plane side. Side pouch is big also for mic rig and such. Compared to other double cases (and I didn't find many), the cost for the quality is excellent.

soprano sax, alto sax and everything else!
I just recent purchased this item, and I am definitely impressed! At first, I was leery of how the soprano would be positioned when the case was on its end (sitting on the floor, or being rolled about)-it put the soprano neck end downward. BUT, the bell of the soprano is cradled in such a manner, that it would cause no more harm to the instrument than holding it upside down by the bell in your hand. Also, I was impressed by the movable supports for the soprano that fasten in with Velcro. The alto fits very snugly-no movement at all. There are places for reeds/and or mouthpieces, alto sax neck slot, spring loaded divided accesory box, and, a large zipper compartment outside the case, which can hold anything from sax stands to clarinet and/or flute cases to books, etc. It even has wheels and a telescoping handle so one can roll it about. A neat and very useful piece of equipment, indeed!!!

Sturdiest strap I have used & very comfortable
I have used several other straps in the past and one thing about them I didn't like is that the hook did not close completely. The hook was open at one end and I was always afraid my sax would fall off. This strap is different. The hook has a clasp and you can be assured your sax is securely fastened to the strap and will not fall off. Also the comfort is great. I can play a long time and my neck doesnt get tired. This strap is the sturdiest I have used and the extra padding around the neck is so comfortable. The length of the strap is also very easy to adjust whereas it has been difficult to adjust the length of other straps. In my opinion, every sax player should own this strap. You wont be disappointed.

A Necessity
This is the gold standard of neck straps. It is durable, comfortable, washable (very important), and affordable. The neck strap is the easiest thing to change when adjusting the comfort of playing. Any player would do well to have one of these on standby if not actively using. I've used one for 8 years and loved it. I recommend to all my peers and students.

Everone that has a sax needs this for sure!
My 9-year old son is playing the sax and taking lessons in school. He is really excited about learning everything he can and being a part of the band. We had bought him a sax online and it came with a pretty nice strap to hold it. Well, though the strap was nice, the sax weighs a lot and pulls on his neck and back while he practicing and playing the instrument. This is a problem since my son would play for a while and it would become more and more painful over time.We bought this strap, hoping it would relieve a little of the pain and help extend the time he could play and practice. I was shocked, the strap not only totally eliminated the stress and pain on his neck, it made the sax feel much much lighter and made it so my son didn't even notice there was any stress on his neck or back.This is a great product and high quality design and construction.
