An Unbeatable Value
This instrument might actually be in a class of its own. That is, it would be extremely difficult to find a guitar in this price band that comes even remotely close in terms of quality; not only with regard to craftsmanship, but certainly the sound it produces. The Applause exceeds expectation whether it is unplugged, amplified, or even run directly through a mixer. Beyond sounding comparatively spectacular, it is far more durable than perhaps any other hollow-bodied instrument on the market due to its components and design. The electronics are reliable and the instrument is accessible, or playable, to even the most novice of musicians. This guitar is the ideal instrument for a beginner or a younger musician, simply because it is cost efficient, durable, and as easy to play for the price as one might be able to find anywhere. Small, nice and light. Beautiful
Just what I expected. I ordered the natural color one, and I'm satisfied.It is a beautiful designed, ultra-light, low-action, and great-sounding instrument. Acoustic or electrically. You can't miss. For the price, it is a great bargain. Great for recording.Of course, if you expect something to beat $1000+ guitars, then you will be dissapointed. But if you want an easy-carry, great sounding and nice looking guitar, this is the one.

Great Selection for My First Guitar
During my first lesson, my guitar teacher allowed me to practice with his Ovation Applause. I loved the sound and how it snugly fit in my lap. I purchased this model after my first lesson and have never been disappointed. The sound quality is smooth and even. The look and feel is not cheap, but sturdy and attractive.If you're starting out, don't buy one of those $100 Guitar Packages but spend a few extra dollars and purchase this one. You won't regret it.

Quality and Affordability
Applause acoustic guitars have always been my brand of choice. I've played some good music with their line over the past 26 years, because of the depth of sound, and overall durability. Their acoustic products are ideal for the novice player through intermediate, or even professional. This model handles well, but can take some getting used to. I'm anxious to get one of their electric acoustic models soon, as my next project calls for a certain sound. I know that I can trust their reliable product once again. For under $200.00, one can really enjoy the world of guitar without breaking the bank.

Great guitar
This is one of those "best kept secrets". A "cheap" guitar with a world class sound. A bit hard to play while standing due to the famous Ovation/Applause bowl shaped back, so it'll take a while to get sued to it. But it sounds better than several high-end famous brand guitars right out of the box

Great guitar
This guitar is one of the best I've ever owned. No buzzing, easy to play, and has the Ovation ring. I would highly recommend this for whatever stage player you might be, beginner to pro. Great guitar to travel with at an unbelievable low price. The quality for under $200 is the deal of the year.

Super great value!
I have been playing guitar for over 17 years, and this guitar sounds like it should cost 3 times as much! The package comes with everything you could want to start off with, although the case isn't specifically designed for Ovation guitars, it still serves its purpose and is a very nice case. The shipping was quick, and once I received the package I took the guitar out and inspected it only to find that it is in perfect condition and securely wrapped in foam. I tuned it up and started playing, no setup required. I'd say this is the best value for your money, hands down!

My Son's Christmas Present
This was a great combinaton for a start up for my 12 year old. He has previously had a normal acoustic, which he wanted to upgrade to a systems he could also plug in to record his playing.When I received the package, the Mini Headstock Tuner and the Picks were not in the Package. I contacted the seller, and they sent out replacements within 24 hours. This was a great response time.The Hard case did arrive with some scratches on it, which a 12 year old did not notice, but most would not approve of. I kept it, since he was so excited, but would not have if it was for myself.Overall, a great price, good item, and decent service.

Great Value
I'll admit I was a little hesitate about purchasing a guitar online even from Amazon. But I am very glad I did. Having owned an Ovation previously, I knew what kind of quality to expect. Let me just say that the quality of this guitar surpassed the Ovation I used to own (even though it was the same model). I was very pleased with the sound and the fact that the strings stay relatively in tune even if not played for several days. I'm also very happy with all the additional items that the guitar comes with (case, strap, stand, picks, etc.). I have not had a chance to try out the amplification, but I didn't really buy this guitar for that purpose. I don't even feel like it needs to be amplified as the sound is so rich and full as it is. Cosmetically, the guitar is beautiful and just what I was looking for. I am extremely satisfied with the value of this item and highly recommend it to anyone.

Awesome Package For The Money !
Great product for the money. The Guitar is beautiful and sounds great. I am getting back into playing after not for many years. So I will claim "Beginner" status.It is a great beginner package. The case is a "Bag " case but it is quality, padded very well with several compartments for your accessories and warranted for life.The only thing that extra I have purchased is a Capo.You just won't find a better deal as I spent about 3 months before deciding on this package.

I bought this guitar for someone close to me for his birthday. the guitar is absolutely GORGEOUS and I think it sounds really great. He will probably change to elixir strings, but he thinks overall it is a really great guitar. I don't know much about guitars but from how it sounds this was probably one of the best electric/acoustics i could have gotten for such a cheap price!

Looks = tone?
This guitar is gorgeous. Drop dead gorgeous. The beautiful gold hardware really sets it off nicely.And it has the signature ovation "sound."I tried this out at the local guitar store, and the looks totally won me over, but the tone did not. Thin, tinny, and flat sounding isn't really my cup of tea, but I'd say this would be a fantastic live instrument, as the body is quite feedback-resistant..just don't bring it into the studio.To reiterate, this is a beautiful guitar, with outstanding live capabilities, but an unplugged tone rivaling that of a $100 small-bodied guitar.
