I'm in heaven again
I bought this record back in the 70's (I believe) at Tower Records in SF and simply loved the album. I played it over and over again until scratches made it too hard to listen to. (I had other Kicking Mule records also that I loved).I had periodically searched to see if Kicking Mule had transferred the record to CD format, and only recently found it. Now, I'm in heaven again, listening to it.The audio quality is as good as could be expected, based on when and how the guitar sessions were recorded (it's still quite good, but varies because the tracks were recorded all over the world (Sweden, England, Canada, USA). The artists are incredibly talented. I'm in awe.For some folks, if you haven't ever heard this type of music before, it might open up a whole new world to you. I know it did for me.

Wilton Guitar Cake Pan
I bought this cake pan for my daughter's birthday. It worked out perfect. Make sure you read the instructions included with the pan so that the cake comes out right. My daughter loved the design.

Nice, but why is the glue so impossible to get off?
This pan is great, and I made a really nice cake for my husband with it -- used milk duds on toothpicks as the "keys" and combined dark and light chocolate frosting on the body, along with white frosting for the strings. It came out really cute. The only aggravating thing was that there was some glue that was used to hold down a piece of paper inside the bottom of the pan (that showed the guitar fully decorated, and had the barcode/etc). The glue was IMPOSSIBLE to get off. I even tried prying it off with a knife, heating it, etc. It's like cemented onto the pan. Luckily, (and I recommend this for anyone using this pan anyhow), I used parchment paper on the bottom of the pan, so the cake didn't actually end up touching the glue. I don't know if the glue was just really old, or if they used the wrong type of glue, but it was a nuisance.

Fun Pan
This is a great pan... It came with a few pictures of different guitar styles to decorate the cake in and the details were really picked up by the cake. It is not nonstick though so be sure to use grease and flower. Other than that though... great pan. I've make an electric guitar and an acoustic guitar. Everybody loved them.

Great drink stirs!
Excellent product - comes three to a package, so I'd recommend buying two trays. The ice part of the guitar really holds its shape well to the stick, but each one is pretty large. Stirs work best for us in highball glasses, but also work in wide shorter classes. Tray and sticks seem to be very durable. We've had them for over a year and it still makes me smile when I grab a glass with one of these stirs.

Novelty Guitar

His latest book, Guitar Zero, now available, is the culmination of his work as a student of guitar, music enthusiast and researcher of learning. Not any guitar though, a Guitar Hero guitar. With a sabbatical coming up, and a growing interest in whether people could pick up an instrument in their adult life, Marcus did what anyone else would do. He picked up a guitar. s point of view, Guitar Zero is a refreshing glimpse into the mind of the amateur. But Guitar Zero is different. When I spoke with him about the book he told me that most great music finds a balance between familiarity and novelty. Our propensity to look for a balance between familiarity and novelty in music may have an evolutionary explanation. Each time around we pick up something new, gain a sense of novelty and get a reward as a result. these examples and more demonstrate that replacing some familiarity with novelty can be ultimately more enjoyable for the listener. t necessarily like too much novelty. This made a lot of sense to me. We like the verse-chorus 120 bpm structure that most popular music is built off of, but as any one hit wonder will tell you, too much familiarity is boring. But we get a real reward for novelty. He devotes several chapters to explain his struggles with congenital arrhythmia, learning music theory, playing instruments and he shares wonderful stories from his adventures at Day Jams,. As someone who has spent most of high school and college playing this beloved game, this was music to my ears. A few years ago he set out to conquer one field that had eluded him his whole life: music. Most interesting was a chapter on what makes successful music. What comes out is a lighthearted memoir filled with wonderful insights about music and the human mind.
