Simple,efficient,enduring,..
I bought this harmonica as an absolute beginner, and I loved it from the beginning. It sounds warm & vibrating.Since then, I bought more expensive harmonicas. Still, this is the harmonica I love to play with the most because of its warmth, its sonic stability, and its simplicity(size, structure)-->makes it easier for you to show off techniques.I highly recommend it, especially for beginners.

Awsome Harp!
Don't be put off by the price. This is a the best harmonica I have ever played. It's comfortable to play and you can get amazing bends out of it. Plus I have been playing it for over a year and it's still going strong. It will save you money in the long run.

The best
I have owned about 30 different harps, including 5 Lee Oskars. The Lee Oskar is the best. Sounds good too. It bends easily when you want it to, and does not bend when you don't want it to. If you don't know how to bend the notes, get a Lee Oskar and learn how. Then you can bend notes on any of the others, but it is harder and does not sound as good. If you pay attention to the videos, most of the professionals use this brand. If you are a beginner, buy this because it make you sound better.

Product Description

The Major Diatonic harmonica is the most commonly used tuning for playing Blues, Rock, Country Folk & Jazz. Major Diatonic harps are produced by several manufacturers using various names such as Blues Harp, Marine Band, Golden Melody, Big River, Special 20, Pro Harp, Folk Master, Star Performer, etc. Although the cover plates are stamped with a variety of different names for marketing purposes, all of these harmonicas have the exact same notation layout as the Lee Oskar Major Diatonic. The most important difference is in the quality of materials, construction, design and sound. Lee Oskars are the best harmonicas in the world, and that's not just our opinion. All over the world, professional players prefer Lee Oskar Harps over any other brand. Top to learn more

Breathe deep and feel the tone ... in G ;-)
Lee knows how to make a pretty good little instrument. I played back in the day and have recently picked up this harp to accompany myself as I sing and strum.Good mouth feel and sized right for individual note selection.I'm enjoying mine ...

Lee Oskar Major Diatonic Harmonica, G & C
I ordered the Major Diatonic key of C to replace my husband's broken Marine Band that he had for years. He liked his Oskar so much I ordered myself one in the key of G so that we could harmonize together. I am thinking about ordering this harmonica in other keys. I would recommend to anyone wanting to play for fun.

Lee oskar harmonicas
Any seasoned harp player knows that Lee Oskar makes a very good harmonica. The reeds, if need to be, are easy to replace. Hohner diatonic harps are not of better quality, and see what happens when a Hohner goes bad. You have mail it in $ shipping $ repair. I've been through it all.

another excellent harmonica from Lee Oskar
Lee Oskar makes such great instruments. I have about five of them, in different keys, that I have played all, almost daily, and in 6 months I only developed one bad reed, which I was able to adjust myself. They have a very refined sound and excellent when playing single notes. For more bending and chord playing I prefer my Hohner super 20 harps, of which I have two, with one more on the way. Both brands are really fine instruments that I clean meticulously after each use, and with the plastic combs they are so comfortable to play and easy to clean that they just gleam, after a quick cleaning of the outsides, with just plain water on a paper napkin. In closing, I highly recommend the Lee Oskar. For beginners to experts. Love dealing thru Amazon. Couldn't do without them....

HOW MUCH ?????????WOW !!!!
These are great harps...BUT buyers be warned......LEE OSKAR has up the price of these "MOST POPULAR and BEST SELLING " harps....7-8 dollars a piece in the last year. REALLY !!! WHY ??? And why that much ? Just plain stupid. They have up the cost just to compete with the HOHNER SPEACIL 20's. SAD LEE, JUST SAD.I bought a bunch last year and they where all different KEYS, that cost 23.00 dollars................NOW 30.00 dollars for all keys.

Bend it like Little Walter
I am a beginner harp player, so I tried several brands to find my favorite version of this popular pocket instrument. I tried the venerable Hohner Special--not bad. I tried a Marine Band version and then tried a Lee Oskar. The light plastic frame, the ease of "bending" a note and the fluid transition from note to note make this my choice of harp. The Lee Oskars are not commonly found in local music stores, so it's wonderful to have a place to order them. You need several harps--because diatonic harmonicas are tuned to a key and then, if played "cross harp" are really in the key up a fifth from the listed key. Anyway, you need a C, a D, an F and a G usually and an A is not bad to have, either. These are nice little harps. A repair kit is available, but frankly, unless you are devoted to a particular harp, just replace it when it goes bad.

The Best Blues Harp
Nothing compares hands down to the quality and versatility of this harp.Every part can be replaced, not that you'd need to unless you ran it over with a truck or something. These harps are the loudest I've played and the tone and ease I have playing them is unmatched by Hohners which I've also tried. The beard bite thing I ran into as well on occasion... but only when I was badly in need of a trim, in any case, covering the bolts with a piece of tape or a trim can easily fix this.I own several of these harps and will forever be a fan.

Hear A Lee Oscar in D... In action... A Great Blues Harp!!!
Customer Video Review Length:: 4:11 MinsThe following song was one of 4 parody blues songs I posted in the old My Space Music days in 2007. Stinky Ray was my alter ego. Even though the song was a joke, I think it will give you a humorous and serious feel for how a Lee Oscar Harp in D sounds. Keep in mind that this harmonica was already 17 years old when I made this track. This was the harp I learned on and it finally is in need of an overhaul in 2012. The key of "D" is a great key for blues but if you want the most common key... Get it in the key of "C"!!!

Great Sounding, Excellent Quality
As soon as I gave the first blow, I was impressed. The sound was so rich and had depth that you could't believe it's from such a small instrument. The quality was excellent. I only wish this harmonica could come with a factory sealed package to give the sense of "brand new".

Product Description

Melody Makers are the best harps available for playing STANDARD SINGLE-NOTE MELODIES. They're great for playing COUNTRY, R&B, POP, WORLD BEAT, AFRICAN and REGGAE. This tuning makes it easier to play many songs...that can be difficult, or impossible, to play on a standard Major Diatonic...IN CROSS HARP. All of the notes that were missing on the Major Diatonic are right there on the Melody Maker! These harmonicas provide a complete major scale, in cross harp, for playing exact melody without bending. Yet, the draw notes can still be bent for that bluesy feeling! Melody Makers are designed to be played in cross harp (draw), not straight harp (blow). In cross harp, melodies can be played with an expressive, fluid style that is extremely difficult to achieve in straight harp. Top to learn more

Comparing 3 harps in same price range...
The Hohner Pro harp has a very similar sound to the Lee Oskar but the painted blackpaint made it slower and not as smooth on the lips as well as before long flaking. The Seydel Session had the best feel in the hands with its thicker yet tampered ends lower profile, but pretty mellow and not as reedy or defined in sound. This would be my preferred harp when amplified, as one could adjust the tone at the amp controls. All good harps at comparably good prices.PS If your a beginner it's probably best to buy a G major harp which is mid in range and neither to high or low or as a second choice a C major.Happy Harping...Brad

hard to find item
As a guitar and harmonica player who plays out in small clubs it is very hard to find a quality harmonica holder that perfectly holds 10 hole harmonicas .When your specialty is Bob Dylan Neal Young and Donavan covers you have to have a dependable holder that does not slip. This product is perfect for that type of music.I bought two so that I could have one set up in G and the other set up in D to cut down on set up time.

Best Harmonica Holder
I have tried EVERY type/brand of harmonica holder for the last 8 or 10 years and FINALLY found one that works great and doesn't look like some type of orthopedic device.I will caution anyone using this harp holder to be careful when adjusting it not to bend the flat stamped spots that keep the springs in place. I managed to break one that way but was still able to finish the show in spite it being broken because it's made so well.www.dalemarsh.com

Easy trick to change harmonicas with this thing
I've read reviews all over the internet about this thing, and decided to buy it yesterday. I've read a lot of reviews in which people say the springs are way too tight and it's hard to change harps, and while that may be true, I've figured out a pretty simple way to swap them in and out without too much fuss: hold the harp with your mouth (lips over teeth), then use both hands to pull down on the springs using the parts of the holder that the bottom of the harp rests on from the outside. Then simply ease the harp in with your mouth. The key is to apply even pressure to both springs at the same time. It's not hard.
