Correct Price?
I was shocked at the price that this model was being sold for. I added EMG pickups on the neck and bridge of this light weight power house. It plays equal to my Schecter which cost me over seven hundred dollars. I will buy out the supply that is left within Amazon and Musicians friend and duplicate and sell the same guitar that I have made out of this solid performer.

The Dean Vendetta Series
With four models to choose from, the Vendettas have string-through-body design, classic Dean V Ferrule pattern, dual Humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. The Vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. The 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. The Vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the Pearl Evil Eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. The 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "Tiger Eye" finish.
Paulownia Body
Paulownia is an increasingly popular substitute for mahogany in more affordable guitar models. It's a fast-growing, hearty tree native to Japan and Southeast Asia, and has traditionally been used for Asian string instruments.
As a lightweight, porous body wood, Paulownia is somewhat similar to swamp ash in its sonic signature: very resonant, with plenty of chime and a nice, tight low-end.
Bolt-On Construction
The Vendetta XM uses bolt-on construction, an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it.
The maple neck features an ultra-playable 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.
Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two humbuckers. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided.
Dean Diecast Tuners
Dean's sealed diecast tuners offer solid tuning and mechanics, for a long lifetime of dependable performance.
Tune-o-Matic Bridge
A Tune-o-Matic bridge with string-thru body design provides even more sustain, along with precise intonation for your tuning preference. The classic v-shaped ferrule pattern adds some nice vintage Dean style.

Great value for the cost
I bought this guitar for my deployment as I wanted a cheap electric to play while over there. For the price, I was expecting a low-quality guitar. That's exactly what I wanted, something I could beat on and practice with while over there. What I got however, was a well made and excellent quality guitar. It is very light and good-looking guitar. Even the stock strings aren't bad!This is a great guitar and I recommend it to both beginners and pros who just want a low priced guitar that still sounds great!

Great first guitar, it rocks -- plays very very well
I bought one of these, the left-handed version GRX20L from zzounds back in October, liked it so much I bought 2nd backup one from an ebay seller recently, this guitar is great. Unfortunately they are discontinued as of Feb 2012 by Ibanez; if you can find one they're a fantastic first guitar.It's solid, and well made, stays in tune, super sound when playing metal, pop, jazz and everything else. It's rare for me to buy 2 of anything unless it's something I like so much I'm confident I'll use for at least 10 years, and the Ibanez GRX20 definitely fits the bill. So I bought two of them. I'll upgrade to higher-end Ibanez guitars after a few years, but for now this one's great, I've played it for hundreds of hours, and it's a superb first guitar, very well made.

I owned a cheapo peavey starter guitar kit, which of course came with a cheapo peavey guitar. a few years later i went to sell it at a local music store. i told the guy i wanted another guitar. and he showed me the Art100 in cherry finish. i emmediatelly thought it would be out of my price range because it was beautiful! it sounded great in the store and i bought it for around 250 used. i could not be happier with this guitar. it has a great sturdy feel to it, easily you can tell its not cheapo!the pickups sounds amazing and its very comfortable. i play it out of a behringer bx300 bass amp and the sounds this thing can put out are amazing, clean sounds can go from very warm and blues like, to sharp alternative sounds. i play thrash metal most of the time. i have a digitech grunge pedal, this thing (if you have the courage) can put out the crunchiest drop kick to the face palm muted sounds ever, "a new level" by pantera sounds great.overall this was a great buy for me, it...
