Very happy with the Pick set
Pretty short and sweet. The picks are well made, brightly colored (so people who lose *everything* within 5 minutes -like myself- can find them), came in different (bright) colors, and the right amount came in the package. Plus the price was good. Highly recommended.

Product Description

Planet Waves Standard Guitar Picks--Right for Any Hand

When it comes to playing a guitar, nothing but the best will do. That's why Planet Waves Medium Standard Guitar Picks are the right choice. They are the right tool for the job, which is producing awesome music. Stylish in pearlized colors, these medium guitar picks are the most popular picks out there today. Not too thin and not too heavy, they are just right for every guitar-playing style.

Attractive, stylish, beautiful sound.

The Right Fit No Matter the Age
It does not matter if this pick will be used by someone who is six-years old or sixty-years old, the Planet Waves Standard guitar pick will be just what the doctor ordered. The pearl finish is attractive enough for kids to want to use, thick enough not to snap when used on electric guitars, and thin enough not to muddle the sound of the strings.

Why a Medium Guitar Pick?
A medium guitar pick is 0.73–0.81 mm or 0.028–0.031 inches thick. When playing rock or heavier music, or while playing electric guitar with hi-gain amplification or distortion, thinner picks produce muddier, less precise, less controlled sound while thicker picks produce more specific, more controlled and well-shaped tone. Thinner picks also tend to rip or tear more often if used too forcefully, whereas a thicker one is less likely to wear down. Thicker picks are generally used in more discrete genres, such as heavy metal or power metal.

Comes in a 10-pack of assorted pearlized colors.

Celluloid, Historically Speaking
Invented in 1856, celluloid is considered the first invented thermoplastic. This was the first plastic ever used to produce picks, and it is still used today--especially for guitarists aiming for vintage tone. Celluloid is easily molded and shaped, and it was first widely used as an ivory replacement. Easy to manufacture, easy to produce, celluloid is the favored pick of guitarists around the world.

Customer Review

Not disappointed!
Based on multiple reviews here about loose picks being "lost in transit", I ordered TWO packages of 12 guitar picks. At such a great price, I figured if I received only eight or ten I would be happy. Package came today... the picks are NOT loose in the box, but instead contained in a hinged plastic shell which snaps closed. I have all 24 (yay!). As some noted, I did NOT receive a variety of colors as shown above -- they were all the multicolor blue/green/brown abalone shell mixture which you see in the display picture right next to the red pick. This happened to be my favorite of the bunch, so not at all disappointed. Now, if they can just help this newbie with practice so that my playing improves quickly... but that's up to me!

Dunlop Tortex = crisp
I've been playing guitar for 22 years now. For at least 20 of those years, I've been using Tortex picks, and I will never stop using them as long as I live.I tried all of the thicknesses over the course of a few months. When I started, I was playing Ramones style punk; strumming barre chords all day like they were going out of style. It seemed to make sense at the time to use the thinner picks, the .5mm or .6mm. (I think these were the red and the orange ones...) They were totally flexible. The red one barely registered at all, it might as well have been a little piece of tissue paper. But at the time it made sense to my dumbass 16 year old neophyte self.A little later, I discovered the joys of speed metal. I began picking and peddaling on individual strings rather than just strumming chords. This was when I started experimenting with the thicker picks. .88mm, 1.0, 1.14. These would be the green, purple, and blue ones. Eventually I settled on the green .88mm...

My dream pick
I know a lot of guitarists aren't near as picky about picks as I am. So why should you be? After all, there is no pick that will make you play better and they are all generally the same.WRONG. I thought that too at first. I figured it's just a piece of plastic, how hard can it be to pick one? I started out with fender pick because they looked pretty conventional and they were moderately priced. I blindly went through about ten of these due to them all breaking. If you knew me well you'd know that I thrash my guitar...a lot... Even the thickest picks would wear down on me within a week, and most of them were too slick to stay in my sweaty hand during these crash and burn guitar playing moments. I came to realize that I needed a heavy duty pick with a good grip that would retain it's shape for at least a couple of weeks. At first I thought metal was the answer. I mean, it's hard as rock and most of them come with a good grip on them. But after...

The First New Pick I've Used in 10 Years
I have used Dunlop Nylon picks for at least 10 years as they have the right thickness and texture to grip, but I've always missed the attack of Delrin, well, these Dava's were exactly what the Dr. ordered. The rubber grip, although thick, feels right and the Delrin tip gives me the sound I have been missing. Definitely a winner.

Awesome Picks
I got this pick unsure because of it's thickness and wierdly flashy looks. And it was an awesome choice. I particularly like the light yellow because of it's mid thickness(which turned out to be a good thing). The sound produced is just amazing and the grip is nice, i never have to re-adjust it under my fingers it stays perfectly. If you like small nylon picks this is perfect. I was never a fan of bigger picks and this pic allows you to play faster with it's superb design. I highly recommend it.

AAAMAZING PIC!
I really had no idea what I was ordering, but I am HOOKED! You can play in so many different ways, with just a slight move of the finger! By moving up or down on the pic, you get a different sound. You can sweep, or pick out individual notes with ease! This pic will improve your playing. BUY IT![...].

Cheap & Good Pics
Very good thin pics! Great for rythmn players! Such a cheap price $3.99 for 24 of them! I pay 0.50 per pic at my local Guitar shop!

These Are Exactly What They Are Supposed to Be
These picks were precisely what I wanted, which was a bag of 24 thin picks. When they arrived, I decided to test a couple of them out by using them to pick the strings of my guitar. To my great delight, these picks (you may know them as "plectrums") caused the strings to reverberate and sound to emit from the guitar after I employed them. I was able to use one of these picks to play a song, and the pick seems to be functioning as advertised. While I have not yet tried all 24 picks, I am assuming the rest of them will work in a similar fashion. I plan on using these, and possibly buying more picks in the future when I lose these or forget them on people's coffee tables or in bars.

Customer Review

It's like a marsupial pouch for guitar picks!
I have no idea why anyone would write a review for a guitar pick holder but... Anyway this little Item as you would imagine is really handy. I think in my 7 years playing guitar I have probably purchessed 1000 guitar picks. And at any given time I can find maybe one. Then you clean your house and they turn up everywhere "I don't remember playing guitar on top of the fridge.." This little guy holds about 6 picks snuggly in its little kangaroo pouch. I stuck this to my main acoustic guitar and instead of sticking the little pick inbetween the strings I just stick it in the holder. And when I clean and start finding loose picks everywhere I just stick them back in the holder. The little adhesive strip keeps it really snug on the guitar, and im sure a little goo be gone will remove residue after you don't want the holder anymore. Anyways If you actually read this review thanks and buy it you won't be dissapointed. Your everything guide -Andrew

Great Idea For Kids!!!
We bought this pickholder for my 6 year old son who just got a guitar for Christmas. The pickholder has a little peice of paper on the back of it that you just peel off and then stick the holder on your guitar. It's great to not have to worry about him losing his picks. I think the holder fit about 10 picks in it. The picks fit into the holder perfectly and come out with ease. Great product, especially for kids.

My First Pick!
Yeah, so this holder is probably the best thing that happened to me since I started playing. I used to always lose my picks, but this holder stopped that from happening. 5 stars man!

Guitar Picks

If you want to purchase the Pick Punch, there are multiple styles- I have and reviewed the “351″ style . It retails for $24. If you are serious about making guitar picks specifically, there are also sanding blocks and sheets of polycarbonate and acetate that will yield results that are like what you can buy at the store.

Although this guitar pick was designed to be worn as a pendant, the edges were filed and surfaces polished to create a pick that can actually be used to play guitar, while the polished satin finish also brings out a natural silver radiance that... For playing your guitar, I personally recommend my 18 gauge copper and bronze guitar picks, because of that unique metallic ring combined with a subtle rasp that a heavy metal pick can produce while striking the strings. There are no limits when it comes to custom or personalized guitar picks or guitar pick jewelry. 15 inches wide at the top, the guitar pick is my own unique design and shape to give you a perfect feel, while still very similar in size to a standard plastic pick. Guitar picks can also be interwoven in hemp or leather to form bracelets or anklets and picks make great dangle earrings.
