Amazing Fun - Addictive and Vastly Replayable
I adore the Guitar Hero series. It is incredibly fun, can be played co-op, and exposes players to all sorts of great music. Guitar Hero III ups the ante with even more fantastic songs plus a new battle mode for fun head to head gameplay!Once again you're a small time band starting off in your garage - or make that, your back yard. As you play through songs on your guitar controller, your career begins to take off. You make videos, play larger arenas, and earn money. The money lets you buy yourself new outfits and guitars. As you battle special players, you unlock their characters - like Slash from Guns 'N Roses. In every Guitar Hero game there have been songs I've liked and other songs I haven't liked. That's going to be true pretty much no matter who you are. They try their very best to provide a wide range of music to suit all guitar tastes, and they do an excellent job at it. Some of the songs are SUPER in this set and got me up off the couch dancing around...

A Step Backward
A note to any official Amazon guys - you might want to merge this review set with the bundle on 360.Okay. Now, I'm a fan of the franchise. I own a lot of it. All of it, actually, and twice on 360 and PS2 for the immediate predecessor of this installment. So, hopefully you will trust me when I say that I am a fan of the gameplay and the franchise in general in this preface. It's kind of baffling what's happened with this game. Neversoft has certainly recognized some of the shortcomings of its predecessor, but have somehow managed to not solve even one of those issues, and have, in fact, introduced new problems to be addressed. I'll do this as a sort of point-by-point thing, to keep it organized:1. Medium-to-Hard. In Guitar Hero 2, the jump from Medium to Hard was only slightly more enjoyable than stepping in front of a speeding bus. The main reason this was such a problem was that the game was very, very poorly designed for getting players...

Still the same Guitar Hero, but with some great additions.
Guitar Hero 3 (GH3) is the fourth iteration in this series of games despite it being labeled the third, though for most people the 80s edition that was the actual third game was a bit of a footnote since it only came out on PS2 and had very little in it that differed from Guitar Hero 2 other than the songs.GH3 continues with the same basic formula as the previous games which will keep fans of the series happy, but at the same time adds some welcome new features. One of the best additions is that of online play so that you can now do co-op, face-off, pro face-off and battle mode with a friend over the Live network. The battle mode is a change up from the normal face-off modes in that instead of gaining star power you acquire attacks from playing certain sequences of notes. Then when you turn the guitar up as if you were going to use star power it instead launches an attack at your opponent. The attacks vary in their nastiness and while I was skeptical of this...

Guitar Hero World Tour Game SOFTWARE ONLY X360 Top to learn more

Start a Band...the Guitar Hero Way

Guitar Hero World Tour transforms music gaming by expanding Guitar Hero's signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience that combines advanced wireless instruments with online and offline gameplay modes including online Band Career and 8-player "Battle of the Bands," which allows two full bands to compete head-to-head online. The game features a Music Studio music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock ‘n’ roll anthems.

*Note: The instruments are sold seperately.

Drum Customization

Eye of the Tiger

Music Studio

Ozzy Osbourne

The Whole Band

Be the Next Great Songwriter

Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch utilizing the guitar controller and drum kit. Players can create their tracks and then play them in-game or share the recordings with the entire Guitar Hero community through GHTunes. GHTunes allows other gamers from around the world to download and play the community's original tracks. Available to Xbox 360 gamers is Line 6's guitar tone technology, enabling them to use amps, cabs, and effects from the Line 6 POD.

Create the Band

Budding rock stars can live out their rock ‘n’ roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience. When rocking as part of a band, up to four players can jam together in quickplay or as they progress through a career. Both band and single-player careers feature non-linear progression giving artists the option to change difficulty and instruments with a variety of different gigs available at any time.

Never Jam Solo Again

Virtual musicians in need of band mates can take their careers online forming worldwide ensembles so no rock star ever has to play a gig solo. Plus, GHWT adds a "Battle of the Bands" modes, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to establish global supremacy.

Customize Everything

The character creator allows gamers to create a rock star with style as unique as their own. Absolute customization from the clothes, to the facial and body structure, to the tattoos and accessories, players are encouraged to unleash their inner rock legend. The Rock Star Creator doesn't just allow players to build the ultimate rock god; the in-depth creators include the ability to customize guitars, drums and microphones. Adding yet another layer of personalization, gamers can create custom logos for their instruments, band, or album covers.

A Set List for the Ages

The Guitar Hero World Tour set list is comprised entirely of master recordings from some of the greatest artists of all-time including Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. There are over 85 tracks, plus frequent downloadable singles and track packs. In addition to the killer track list, the game will feature rock icons such as Hayley Williams of Paramore and Travis Barker of +44 and blink-182.

Bridget's Review
I surprised my hubby with one of the new, slim PS3's for Christmas and needless to say, he was ecstatic! When I gave him the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock Guitar Bundle, he literally jumped for joy. He's been a Guitar Hero fan since before we started dating and I remember standing in line one year to pick up the game at midnight. It felt great to be able to make his day like that. I enjoy the Guitar Hero games but not nearly as much as he does. His favorite part of Warriors of Rock is the quest. Watching the characters transform is amazing! The song choices in this game are perfect. I was really excited to play these songs:Aerosmith - "Cryin'"Def Leppard - "Pour Some Sugar On Me"Drowning Pool - "Bodies"Flyleaf - "Again"Linkin Park - "Bleed It Out"Muse - "Uprising"Nickelback - "How You Remind Me"R.E.M. - "Losing My Religion"This is my favorite Guitar Hero game so far! I think the hubby would agree.

dont believe the bashing
okay so places like ign are bashing this game. not because of the quality of the game but because guitar hero has flooded the market since release. so they are unjustly judging this game.this IS the best guitar hero to date. the difficulty is higher but still accessible by new players, the tracklist is FAR better than ever before, and like gh5 before it, warriors of rock can copy the tracks from world tour and gh 5 if you own a copy (must be 360 version of the game)the guitar is far more responsive than previously. there is no touchpad but the build feels more sturdy. the body style is different than before. rather than a 2 piece guitar its a 4 piece.the graphic are improved and the customization system is better as well. and the story mode has an actual story and its a lot more fun than in the past

Great Game, Terrible Guitar
Thankfully, Guitar Hero has finally lived up to its name for the first time since Guitar Hero 3. There are 93 new songs, and almost all of them are geared towards guitar. There is still the full band option, but unlike gh5, gh smash hits and gh world tour the priority is a good song for guitar. Warriors of rock has songs by classic bands like aerosmith, bu also has newer ones like linkin park and muse. Also, Activision put on a hard song by dragonforce, which makes the game infinitely more fun. There is about 6-10 hours of gameplay on quest mode, so even if you try to finish as fast as you can it still takes you several days. One small problem with so much gameplay is that you can't actually play the hard songs on quickplay until you have passed them in quest mode, a week after you got the game. But overall the game is very fun to play, and if you haven't bought a guitar hero game since gh3, or even if you are just starting, i would definitely recomend getting the game. But DO...

Old Songs with New Gameplay!
For those who are skeptical because you have played these songs before need to know that the gameplay is new for all songs. In career, you only need to play a select number of songs to unlock the next section, so at first I was only playing songs from the older games that I haven't played in a long time and skipping songs that are available on current games such as Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band 2. To my surprise when I did finally play those songs that the fingerings for guitar/bass are different. They didn't just take the current guitar gameplay and plop it into this game. Instead, they have updated the gameplay to not only have different fingerings (that in my opinion are mostly a vast improvement over the previous versions of these songs) but they also incorporate the newest styles of gameplay, such as three string chords & the three string hammer-on chords that we saw with the latest versions of guitar rhythm games. It makes all of these previously released songs fresh,...

Smash Hits Great for Older Rockers
I saw my kids playing the Guitar Hero games and recognized many of the songs included. Once I learned to play the game myself I started getting the games for the classic rock songs they contained. I bought Smash Hits to take to a party with some of our friends because it had the most recognizable songs from my generation. After one of my friends got the hang of the guitar controller, he was into it. Playing along with songs like "Smoke On the Water" and "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" brought back memories of the days when we could only play along on our "air" guitars. Loads of fun!

I WANNA ROCK!!!!!
Just finished playing through all the songs on the game and have to say it is great fun! The songs selection rocks for the most part (rather would have had 'infected' on here than 'hey man nice shot'). Also note worthy is that all the songs are available from the get go without any codes!!It really is the most polished guitar hero game yet; all the parts of the band play well and pretty much as they should with no frustrations; however I seem to get heavy feedback on vocals where my friends don't.Simply too much fun.

great addition to the series
First off, try not to read other reviews that only refer to not getting receipts and manufacturer's defects. If you have played a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game, this is just a given that some of us are going to have to return an item or two. It happened to me on Gears of War, it happens to everyone. That being said, this game should be reviewed on the game itself with a little thrown in about the quality of the guitar. The game is excellent, and getting 4.5 out of 5 and 9 or 10 out of 10 from all the game reviewers. You can use your xbox live avatar, you can create rockers just like before, all your favorite rockers are back, there are a load of fun and new achievements, the ability to jump into songs midstream, and the run on sentence goes on and on. As many series have done, they are constantly coming up with new feature and taking out old features. In guitar hero I think they have done better than World Tour and improved on some of the...

Best Software and Hardware so far!
I just got this game and it's amazing!I'm not gonna review this based on tracklist, cause everyone have different opinions, but i'm reviewing it entirelyFirst: HardwarePretty decent guitar, great improvement the ability to detach the neck to the body, it really helps carrying it. The touch track it's great, pretty responsive and gives extra funcionalities like Slap-bassing and wah-wahs.It looks the most solid one from the series and it has a good wheight and size.Secondly: GameI've not played GH: World tour, but since GH: 3, Aerosmith and all. this game seems GREAT!you may play with your 360's avatar and you can also customize your own rocker (leeched from Rock band, so what? it makes this game great), the tutorials cover pretty much the new aspects of the game and there is the GH Studio, where you can Jam songs and even create your own song!! This last feature seems great, it's kinda deep and it's not soo easy to work with...

A great ice-breaker for any party and fun for all ages.
Being late on the hip circuit, I purchased this game and an additional controller for my 16 year old son's Christmas present, and it is one of the better video game purchases I've made.First of all, the game is very easy to learn - which is one of the reasons why whenever we play, everyone in the family gets involved. Whenever we have a gathering, this game presents a sure way to get shy guests to mingle a bit. The graphics are seemless and the music selection is excellent - containing a cross section of oldies and new releases. There should be something that appeals to everyone, with a whole range of skill-levels.You can choose from the games pre-selected rock stars (with females represented in good measure, by the way), or you can build your own. As you win, you acquire small extras like new guitars and other accessories - as well as unlocking additional known stars as Shirley Manson and Johnny Cash. I found myself playing this for hours on certain...

Hours of fun!!
I bought Guitar Hero 2 originally for Playstation 2 when it first came out and then it out later for Xbox 360 so I bought this game also because it had better graphics and some extra songs. This game is really fun I can play it for hours and not get bored of it.I play it on medium because I find it difficult to press the orange button on hard mode. This game has a lot of great songs, but not all of the songs are good, some of the cover songs are not done very well like "Killing In The Name","Them Bones",and "Institutionalized". Besides the covered songs the rest of the game is fun and I think this game has better songs than Guitar Hero 3. This game has a unlockable songs, costumes, and guitars. My guitar that came with X-plorer guitar which is my favorite guitar,I own the Les Paul guitar and its not as comfortable.I do think that these games should have more newer bands like Chevelle,Three Days Grace,Breaking Benjamin, and Bullet For My Valentine. My favorite songs are...

Still best in the series, despite lack of master tracks
I owned and played the heck out of the original Guitar Hero, and managed to get everyone I knew into it. Yet for some reason I skipped GH2 when it first came out, and didn't return to the series until GH3. I was very disappointed in GH3, but when I saw GH2 on sale for the new 360 I bought it - and fell in love with the series again. As a sequel GH2 picks up and improves upon almost every aspect of the original. Co-op mode was a great idea, and there's a better mix of genre/decade songs than the original. The game offers a few genuinely challenging songs and is for the most part more difficult than the original. However for those, like me, who played GH3 first and wanted to try something else in the series GH2 is a lot easier. That's not a bad thing - at times it felt like GH3 was artificially adding button combinations or notes in order to ramp up the difficulty. To put it shortly, GH2 is an improvement in gameplay (as much as rhythm based games can be different)...

Love the game but...
Don't get me wrong I love all the songs on this game I'm just not used to hearing these bad covers. I Mean the guys who did Woman, Free Bird, Laid to Rest and Last Child completely sucked while the covers of Heart Shaped Box, Madhouse, and Jessica were amazing. but that's me stating my opinion. And plus the graphics of this game are not that great compared to GH 3, Aerosmith, or Metallica. But this game is good on the sense you get to try something new that you absoloutely loved to hear while growing up listening to your parents Records or 8 Tracks. But sometimes you will be like me and get irrated when somebodys cover just ruins it for ya.

Guitar Hero Xbox 360

Guitar Hero 5 is one of the latest Video Game titles in the Guitar Hero Franchise, but not by any stretch of the imagination "the least". As well it is important to note that as usual, this game is playable with ALL guitar hero controllers, microphones, guitars, and drums. Guitar Hero 5 is not just another guitar game. As we all probably know, Guitar Hero songs are performed by pressing the appropriately color coded keys and moving the strum bar on your guitar controller. The graphics are sufficient for most as they are actually quite good for this type of game, and although important are not as integral to a game of this type as they would be to an action/fps style game. One would think that a lot of the best Guitar Hero songs had been used in earlier titles. Well yeah Guitar Hero Songs are like "Reality Shows". All in all they wouldn't have made a Guitar Hero 5 unless they believed people would find it worthwhile and fun. Guitar Hero 5. Basically it's a great addition to a game market that is already flooded with games of this type, that seems counterproductive and more like a money grab than anything for fans and consumers. And although I believe it to be one more occasion of trying to capitalize on the GH style music game, I also must say we wouldn't buy it if we didn't want it, and apparently we as gamers, want it.
