Works With Rockband Generation One Guitars and Drums
The other reviewers tell you everything you need to know about the game. It's a lot of fun. I couldn't find a clear answer before buying it to whether or not my rock band guitar and drums would work with it. Thus, the point of this review is to let you know that YES they will work. You don't have to buy a whole new set of equipment. This isn't meant to discourage you from buying them if that's what you want. I'm just letting you know you don't have to if you own the first generation or Rock Band equipment. I, personally, just don't have the space to house two drums sets. I wouldn't have bought the game if the controllers weren't compatible for that reason. My only small complaint is that some of the songs on Rockband 2 and GH WT overlap but there's enough songs that don't (Hotel California and Purple Haze) that it's worth buying both.

Legend of rock gets made even better with a ton of new features.
This is a good enough game for even those who can not pony up the dough for full kit or a new guitar, just get the game and play just bass and guitar, and let your inner rock fury go!I myself purchased this band kit as soon as I could this morning the day of release, and it is well worth it. Here is what comes it the kit: Drum kit(3 pads, 2 cymbal risers, kick pedal) with midi in and expansion port, drumsticks, usb microphone, guitar with connector/usb splitter, stickers for guitar. All you need to connect in one box, no need for extra usb hub if you do not want it.A bit about the drum kit, very playable, durable upper, kick pedal is a bit flimsy, but alright for my purposes.A bit about the new guitar. This features detachable faceplate, extended neck, larger strum bar, longer whammy bar, and the tap/touch pad. this guitar is not necessary for any features in the game, but for advanced gamers, they may find it a new fun way to bend the sounds on...

So close but no cigar.........
This is a good game but it falls short in a couple of areas:Pros (always good to stay positive at first):Music that just isn't available anywhere elseDeath Magnetic Album (tight)Recording Studio is kinda cool I like how you can pick scales and effects with your axe (more on that in Cons)Create Rock Star is really in depthCompatibility with RB instruments (biggest plus)ConsDLC Content is practically non existent (yes it is new but at least support all of GH:3's content would have made up for it)Graphics are not as good as they could/should beRecording Studio is like a create your own ringtone studio......vocals should be in there in some medium......maybe they just can't publish vocals on the netThe instruments don't sync that well with the TV and Calibration does little to fix thisOverall GH:WT is a fun game and its worth it if you just love this genre of games to own as it gives you...

Guitar Hero World Tour Game SOFTWARE ONLY PS3 Top to learn more

Start a Band...the Guitar Hero Way

Guitar Hero World Tour transforms music gaming by expanding Guitar Hero's signature guitar gameplay into a cooperative band experience that combines advanced wireless instruments with online and offline gameplay modes including online Band Career and 8-player "Battle of the Bands," which allows two full bands to compete head-to-head online. The game features a Music Studio music creator that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock ‘n’ roll anthems.

*Note: The instruments are sold seperately.

Be the Next Great Songwriter

Music Studio lets players express their musical creativity by giving them access to a full complement of tools to create digital music from scratch utilizing the guitar controller and drum kit. Players can create their tracks and then play them in-game or share the recordings with the entire Guitar Hero community through GHTunes. GHTunes allows other gamers from around the world to download and play the community's original tracks. Available to PlayStation 3 gamers is Line 6's guitar tone technology, enabling them to use amps, cabs, and effects from the Line 6 POD.

Create the Band

Budding rock stars can live out their rock ‘n’ roll fantasies by playing either a single instrument or any combination of instruments, in addition to the full band experience. When rocking as part of a band, up to four players can jam together in quickplay or as they progress through a career. Both band and single-player careers feature non-linear progression giving artists the option to change difficulty and instruments with a variety of different gigs available at any time.

Never Jam Solo Again

Virtual musicians in need of band mates can take their careers online forming worldwide ensembles so no rock star ever has to play a gig solo. Plus, GHWT adds a "Battle of the Bands" modes, which allows eight players to join online and challenge each other band-to-band to establish global supremacy.

Customize Everything

The character creator allows gamers to create a rock star with style as unique as their own. Absolute customization from the clothes, to the facial and body structure, to the tattoos and accessories, players are encouraged to unleash their inner rock legend. The Rock Star Creator doesn't just allow players to build the ultimate rock god; the in-depth creators include the ability to customize guitars, drums and microphones. Adding yet another layer of personalization, gamers can create custom logos for their instruments, band, or album covers.

A Set List for the Ages

The Guitar Hero World Tour set list is comprised entirely of master recordings from some of the greatest artists of all-time including Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime. There are over 85 tracks, plus frequent downloadable singles and track packs. Guitar Hero is back!
Guitar hero is finally back! This game has taken me to back in the day when Guitar hero was king. Before it lost out to rock band. The game play is right back on par and and I've really enjoyed the new features added to this version including the ability to slide and hammer on notes. Much more realistic to actual guitar playing.Pros:*Music: Some great old school classics (including Phish,Santana, and Bon Jovi) mixed with current pop hits, great for all ages.Cons:The only slightly negative thing I would have to say is that they haven't brought down the price of the downloadable content yet. They should group more of them together for less money. Because I don't want to pay $20 for 10 new songs.Ps3 Online Multi-player makes it difficult to find people on the network.Overall a good buy and a great addition to the guitar hero family.

Amazing!
All the new features and setlist are what make this game amazing.I was really getting tired of RB/GH Releasing the same thing over and over again with new songs, almost no new features, and the same tired note charts. Guitar Hero 5 changes everything. Completely redesigned interface that makes you feel like you can NEVER press a wrong button. You can switch modes within modes, go directly online from within modes, and even pull up your friends list from a new in-game menu (on PlayStation Network) and send network invites. The only thing I hate about this is, they took away the XMB friends list (it'd be equal to pulling up the Xbox Live invite list) for their own friends screen which doesn't sort by whether your friend is on/offline and whether they are playing Guitar Hero 5 or not. It's kind of crappy. However, it does let you see their Rocker Card for friends who've played the game. That's probably the only complaint I have about the game. Everything...

Nice Game
Some people may tell you that the setlist is poor compared to the first three Guitar Hero Games, but the DLC's, the party play mode and the ability to play with up to four guitar controllers (or multiple microphones, or any combination of instruments you like) more than make up for it.

Great Guitar for the over 50 crowd.
First off, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are great games. I love it because it is the only video game I can beat my daughters fiance` at. In fact both my daughter and her fiance` will no longer play against me because they lose too badly.I got this guitar after my daughter bought me a Playstation 3 for Fathers Day. I had been struggling along with the original guitars from the first Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. Both were worn out and driving me crazy. Went to Amazon and ordered this guitar, PS3 Guitar Hero 5 and the Beatles Rock Band and since I was on vacation at the time had them shipped overnight. Next day, there they were, thanks Amazon. The guitar looks to be well made. I like the action of the fret buttons, they feel solid to me. The best part is the strum bar. It has a positive click to it that I like and it works wonderfully. I can finally hit those quick notes that I just couldn't do with the older guitars, I can now get thru some songs in Hard and...

Great Product!
Solidly built guitar. You can tell some thought was put into the engineering of this product. It's easy to connect to the PS2 or PS3, has very little lag in game (if any), and the neck can even be removed for easy storage.I'd recommend this to anybody. The guitar has a good feel, not too light and not too heavy. Even better, no strange "guitar disconnected" messages in GH5.

Still fun despite various annoyances
I was a little worried when I ordered this game based on some of the complaints I'd been reading. Having received it and spent several hours playing, I find that the complaints are basically valid but not as big a deal as some might have one believe. Here are my thoughts:* The song list ranges from worthless to classic. They're trying to please too many different people and should probably consider releasing separate games in specific genres going forward. I love the classic rock and '80s metal tracks, but a lot of the others don't do anything for me. I'm sure that plenty of younger gamers have the opposite reaction. Also, the fact that a few of the songs can only be played in multiplayer mode is extremely annoying.* The gameplay is indeed much harder than in previous games. Aside from the fact that Easy still uses only 3 fret buttons and Medium uses 4, each difficulty level is roughly equivalent to the next highest level in the earlier games...

Great game but much harder
First off let me just say that this is a great game. I was a little concerned when it switched from Harmonix to Neversoft, but they have stayed true to what guitar hero is all about. Mechanics of the game is the same and the game play is very fun as usual. This however is not for the faint hearted. The song list is great (mostly original artists and not cover bands like the last 2 games) but they are very fast paced and particulary "shredders" where you feel your arm is about to fall off. I play on hard and expert. You shouldn't have any problems and if you are new to guitar hero I recommend on starting out easy/medium due to the difficultly level being anti-upped in guitar hero 3. "One" in particular is the song title by Metallica which is a very hard song to beat and this would be for those who have played guitar hero before and want a significant challenge. What's interesting is that they have added what's called "battle mode" which instead of star...

You want competition? You got it!
We've been fans of GH and RB (Rockband) for a while now. Our first GH adventure was with World Tour and we kept up the many versions since. GH always lagged behind RB in a few areas, mainly graphics. Well, with this release, GH finally has a very competitive product. The graphics are fabulous. The ability to customize your character has become easier - you can choose from multiple pre-selected styles (body, face, hair, clothes, etc). Or you can create your own from scratch. (But on the graphics note, I would suggest that GH improve their characters' expressions - the still look a bit too stone faced.)GH Warriors of Rock (GHWR) is much better than its predecessors. The main choices in the game are the Story (formally known as Career) or Quickplay+ (see below for other options of play). I recommend that you start with the Story because you will earn various "powers" through the story that you can use in Quickplay+ to boost your scores. In Story, you are in charge of...

Best Guitar Hero game yet!
Ok, I'll admit it, I got this game JUST to play Rush's 2112. That was honestly the biggest selling point of this game for me. But, it didn't take me long to figure out that the rest of the game was awesome...and quite challenging, even on medium. It is really the best GH game out there so far (that I've played) Although normally I'm a Rock Band person, I think this is better than the Rock Band games too. Oh, and I love that it is compatable with my Rock Band set, that saved me a lot of money and space in my small apt :)

Guitar Hero 6. Nothing More, Nothing Less
This is pretty much the latest in the now discontinued guitar hero series. Again, nothing new, so yea, if you either hated or loved the past iterations, then nothing in this will change your opinion.I mainly got the game for 2 reasons, 1 was to expand my guitar hero song library, and 2, so i could fix the annoying thing in guitar hero 5 where the vocalist does not change regardless if the track has male or female lead vocals (i regretted trading in band hero mainly because of this). I did not care much for the track list (although i now have a better appreciation of some tracks there after spending some time with it) or the new quest mode, just mainly concerned with the 2 things i mentioned earlier. The problem is, as of 10/14/11, the in-game music store is still down (and has been down for months according to the forums) and is pretty much the only way for you to import songs from previous guitar hero games onto this one, which brings me to the number 2 reason why...

Excellent controller with a bad reputation.
When Rock Band rolled out last November, Harmonix/EA had some quality control problems with the first wave or two of guitar controllers. Being an early adopter, I lived through these issues and was rather frustrated that this much-anticipated game couldn't deliver on its promise. It's April, now, and the separate guitar controller is finally available. So, should you get it, or will you end up sending it off for repair, or returning it, or just plain smashing it out of frustration? The first thing to address is the quality of the controller. It gets bashed a lot for the one serious defect the first batch of controllers had: the strum bar on many, many of them broke after just a few hours use.Obviously, that's unacceptable, and Harmonix and EA both knew that. They jumped on the problem with both feet and by the end of January, virtually everyone who had problems finally had a controller in hand that wasn't defective. So let's put...

Bad batch of wireless guitar
I didn't purchase mine from Amazon, but from gamestop store.First one I got, it will not sense me have tilted the guitar, and not matter how hard I try to tilted it, it will go into overdrive mode, I have to press "select" button to use it.Returned, and got another one. This time, when I tilted it, it does go into overdrive, but not as sensitive as the one that came with the whole package. The stock one will go into overdrive if it senses me slightly going upward. This one I have to do it hard, or maybe twice or three times before it would go into overdrive, it is kind of frustrating, but just to share with you guys the experience that I had.

No overdrive
I just got this today, and it works perfectly fine if you don't want to go into overdrive. Trying to deploy overdrive with this thing made we want to scream. I felt like smashing it into tiny little bits because I would spend so much time frustrated at it while trying to deploy overdrive that I would completely fail out of the song. Don't buy this. Look for the newer model.

Guitar Hero Ps3

Elevating the Guitar Hero series to new heights with unmatched social gameplay, an enhanced style, new in-game artists and more rock legends, Guitar Hero 5 features new surprises and challenges that will fire-up long-time fret board fanatics and... The only thing I hate about this is, they took away the XMB friends list (it’d be equal to pulling up the Xbox Live invite list) for their own friends screen which doesn’t sort by whether your friend is on/offline and whether they are playing... Players take complete control as Guitar Hero 5 allows gamers to personalize and customize how they experience music by being able to play with any in-game instrument combination — multiple vocalists, guitarists, bassists and drummers, in any game... This fall, living room legends will rock any way they want in Guitar Hero 5. You can import GHWT, GHSH, GHVH, and BH into Guitar Hero 5 and all your GHWT DLC except for Jimi Hendrix. You can switch modes within modes, go directly online from within modes, and even pull up your friends list from a new in-game menu (on PlayStation Network) and send network invites.

Get the Guitar Hero III "Legends of Rock" Bundle for your PS3, and "shred" with all of your heroes. Guitar Hero III "Legends of Rock" Video Game Bundle for Playstation 3 I originally bought a PS2 just to play guitar hero 1. They could have made the guitar run just like a sixaxis which in turn would create a seamless integration with the PS3 like it should be. The 5 colored buttons could stay the way they are right now, the two bottom triggers on the sixaxis are... People have been waiting for a guitar controller for the PS3 so they can play the old GH’s on the system. GH I, II, and rock the 80′s still have no way to play on a PS3 even though sony added backwards compatability for legacy games. There is wireless built into the PS3 for a reason, USE IT. A wireless dongle for PS2 would be understandable. You CANNOT turn on the PS3 with the controller like you can the sixaxis. The implementation of the GH3 controller with the PS3 is below standards. Sony added bluetooth to the PS3 which was an amazing idea. Just drop the Guitar Hero III disc into your Playstation 3 console and get ready to melt some faces. This deluxe "bundle" pack includes the game, 70 built-in songs (with even more available) and a wireless "Les Paul"-style guitar controller youll use to crank out the smokin riffs. Guitar controller is 30 x 9 1/2 x 1 3/4"h. Here is the controller everyone has been waiting for, but sorry… this controller doesn’t work with anything but GH3.

Do you want a second guitar in the band, or to compete head-to-head on guitar in Guitar Hero 5's competitive RockFest Mode. So multiply your gameplay experience with the Guitar Hero 5 Stand-Alone Guitar, and rock on.

PS3 Guitar Hero 5 Guitar Bundle ]. Guitar Bundle includes 'Guitar Hero World Tour' compatible software and new improved guitar controller.
