Bought it for my Kid. Now I'm buying it for myself!
I bough this amp for my 9 year old son who is learning guitar for his Christmas present. I thought that since I love Fender guitars and since he has a mini Squier we'd like to get something in the Fender Family. I seriously expected a cheap imitation of a Line 6 Spider with a Fender logo slapped on it. I should have had more faith in Fender.I am blown away by the sounds that come out of this amp. The AMP models are far more real and interesting sounding than any modeling tool I have ever used. The amps don't sound digital or processed, they actually sound overdriven when you crank the gain. You would swear that there are tubes in this thing when you listen to it. I can't get over the Bassman, the twin Reverb and the Deluxe. They sound so full and strong. My biggest compliment of the Mustang is that it is the ONLY modeling amp that has great sounding Vintage tones. Line 6 has tons of metal stuff, and a lot of weird niche tones. Vox has never really made...

Best use for $99 in equipment !
I was skeptical about this amp, since it was so cheap, yet had all these features. Youtube and the Fender website allowed me to watch videos that impressed me. I took a chance and decided to go with the Mustang 1. I am glad I took the risk, cause this amp is simply amazing. First, without the software, it would make an incredible amp, combined with the FUSE software, it is over the top! With Fuse, you can add nearly any effect, and alter the effects just like you could on real pedals, so much more in depth and detailed than even my expensive multi-effects units! Fuse is simple to use as well, although the other 2 software programs, Ableton and Amplitube, do NOT impress me. Ampltube works, but I don't know what it is used for other than bypassing the Mustang and playing through your PC speakers. Ableton just doesn't seem to work. It loads up, and I can tell that it's working, but I can't get it to record ( which was one of the reasons I was interested in this amp ). The amp...

Kicks
Have had this amp for a few weeks and my son and I can't stop messing with it. We are constantly finding new sounds. Connecting the online software gives you even more sounds and more control. We have dialed in everything from an old Fender Bassman to a Vox AC30 to a Marshall with so many effects that you'll never need a pedal again. Unreal for $!00.

The red and green banks are for creating your own presets; the amber bank can only be modified using Fender® FUSE™ software.

MUSTANG I amplifier modeling preset controls
Modulation Effects

Mustang further sculpts your sound with 12 sweeping, swooping and shimmering adjustable modulation effects, including chorus, phaser, flanger, vibratone, tremolo, step filter and octaver. Use your computer to add more effects, too.

MUSTANG™ I & MUSTANG™ II modulation effects control knob
Delay / Reverb Effects

Mustang makes the room resound with 12 easily adjustable delay and reverb effects ranging from subtle to cavernous, including tape delay, stereo/mono delay and room/plate/hall reverb.

Mustang I and II each have 24 effects controlled by two simple selection knobs on the control panel. The first knob (“MOD”) controls 12 modulation effects; the second (“DLY/REV”) controls 12 delay/reverb effect

MUSTANG™ I Effect Level Controls

The MOD and DLY/REV knobs share the same three selection indicator LEDS. These LEDS are numbered 1, 2, and 3, and they correspond to the three positions within each of the selection ranges, labeled A, B, C and D on each knob (see the Mustang I/II manual for a table listing the effects selection for each knob). Use the LEDs to determine exactly which position the knob is pointing to (using the factory settings of the “MOD” knob, for example, position 1 in the A selection range gives you chorus, position 2 in the A selection range gives you deep chorus, and position 3 in the A selection range gives you flanging).

Adjusting the effects levels on Mustang I and II couldn’t be easier—simply hold down the “EXIT” button while turning the “MOD” or “DLY/REV” knobs. Doing this adjusts “how much” of a particular effect you’ll get, according to your personal preference.

USB Connection

Mustang includes USB connectivity for high-quality, low-latency audio output, and to engage the Fender® FUSE™ software application for PC and Mac. This opens up a world of possibilities, including on-screen parameter control, deep editing, unlimited preset storage, online preset swapping with the Fender® FUSE™ community, and free Fender artist presets.

Tuner

Onboard chromatic tuner puts intonation right on the money quickly and easily.

Onboard Chormatic Tuner

Sleek and modern Fender styling provides a look that’s as desirable as the sound. Mustang has Fender’s classic silver grille cloth, and is covered in tough, great-looking “carbon tweed” black textured vinyl.

Functional
Small, light (less weight than, say, an industrial lunchbox computer), fairly loud for its size, built like the proverbial tank, no unwanted extras. And it's cheap! (Sixty at my local GC.) It has a very nice clean sound, which you can dirty up a bit via the built-in overdrive (there's a button and a gain dial). I especially like that, unlike many competing products, this amp is free from the usual multitude of built-in effects. My view is, if I need something, I'll hook up a pedal; good clean sound is all I need from a "bedroom" amp -- and I don't want to pay for what I don't need; from that standpoint the 10G looks ideal. This thing is good for practice and no-drums creative sessions with friends. Five stars.

Great Product
The amplifier far exceeded my expectations. The sound that it produces is outstanding. It is much better than my $200 amplifier which is much bigger and heavier. The overdrive button is amazing. This 10 lb. product will be very mobile and when considered with the quality of the sound, I will likely never use my larger, more powerful and more expensive amplifier. I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Our Frontman amps deliver quality tone at a great price, with custom-voiced built-in overdrive for great tone and the unmistakable Fender Blackface look. The 10-watt Frontman 10G features a 6-inch Special Design speaker and a selectable gain control that can rock guitar tones from tube-emulated overdrive to full-strength ultra-saturated distortion; perfect for blues, metal and the famous Fender clean tone. Closed-back design gives a heavier bass response; the 1/8-inch input lets you play along with your media player of choice; and the 1/8-inch headphone output is great for silent practicing. Good apartment practice amp
This is a good enough everyday, low volume, small apartment-ready practice amplifier. The volume gets actually louder, and it stays clean as long as you don't have the guitar dialed to 10 and hit the strings like a mad man, in which case it distorts the sound even in the clean channel. You shouldn't use this for practicing with your band, it was not designed for it.As for the sound quality, well, if you want tone you will have to pay for it... this thing is just to listen to what you are doing during your practices.I've got it plugged to my Stratocaster and my PC from which I play the tunes I practice along with. Works fine in that setting. One little caveat is that once you play what you practice with your 10G in a real amp... you might hear some mistakes you couldn't really listen to before due to the compressed sound of this little speaker.Advice: place it against the wall, in a corner, and the bass and overall tone will improve substantially.

A mini Amp for an Electric Violin
All the reviews on this amp were for guitars. So I took a gamble on purchasing this for my violin. And...I love it! Its cute. And a little bigger than I thought. Quite solid too, even if it made out of plastic. Sound wise, very nice, and warm sounding for my violin.I highly recommend this amp, for others who have an electric violin, and who are looking for a starter amplifier.So...Thanks a lot Danelectro for such a cute amp! And good luck to whomever is browsing.P.S.Recommend getting the ac adapter.

Can't go wrong with this one
In my opinion...This is the best amp in this category. I know people who have the Marshall and the Fender. I plugged into my little HoneyTone and I had the best sounding micro amp hands down. They were both amazed with the sound. They said "well mine was only $45 and "mine was only $40." Too bad so sad for them. I told them mine was $20. Since it doesn't say Marshall or Fender, I only had to pay 1/2 for a better sounding amp. If you are looking for an amp with 1 or 2 watts, and know what to expect from a micro, this amp does not disappoint

Danelectro N10BK Honey Tone Mini Amp in Black
I love this amp soooo much... as soon as I got it in the mail i tested it out and I just loved everything about it... I bought it so i can be Buckethead if anyone knows who that is and carry my guitar with me for this 2010 Halloween... so I know it will end up being a remembered one. I will get twice as much candy for doing this and not only that I am bringing my G1X effects pedal because it is light and portable and combined with this amp leaves unbelievable capabilities... the only complaint I have about the amp is that it runs on 9 volt batteries ,but it is still 100% awesome!!

Impressive Sound from an Inexpensive Source
The is an easy way to get great sound from your electric guitar. The color of this unit is a soft burgundy (almost brick red in color). Paired with the Zero Hum AC Adaptor, it's a highly portable amp setup. "Ultra-portable" by using a 9V battery instead of the AC adaptor. I do think they are best purchased together to enjoy all the benefits of this rig though.A headphone jack on the amp means you can enjoy the amp's impressive sound quality without bothering the neighbors or waking your spouse.Included with the amp is an Owner's Manual with simple start-up instructions. You'll need to have your own cord (the one that goes from the guitar to the amp isn't provided as part of the amp package...). The manual has several control settings for the following sound...

I wish I would have had this 10 years ago. Small and cheap enough to have more than one (keep one at work, in the car, etc), but really big, quality sound. You do go through some 9v batteries, but you can also plug it in/use rechargeables.

Really Good!!
I recently discovered this little tone wonder by cruising the guitar effect pedal vids on You Tube. (I discover a lot of new things that way, especially with independent user reviews). The sound of this little effect box was a real eye-opener! Plus, I was looking for something that would be very simple for practicing on the couch, that didn't require connecting a lot of wires or an AC adapter. Everyone seemed to be very positive about it - which has got to mean something. My gear lust got the best of me, so the next day when I happened to be in Best Buy, I checked with their new music department (!) and there it was, they had several of them. I purchased it on the spot and couldn't wait to get home and tear the wrapper open. There are almost no instructions included, except to tell you the obvious not to break it. I was a bit worried that it would not fit into the jack cavity on my two Stratocaster's, but it does quite nicely, so obviously that was part of...

A Very Pleasant Surprise
How many times have you bought an effect or a gadget like this for your guitar, take it home and find yourself totally disappointed? If you're lucky, you may be able to return it for a store credit at best. Well, after leaving the guitar store, I sat there over a cup of coffee and thought, what did I just spend $39.99 on? A little plastic box with a brown sticker to make look like a "cutsie" miniature Vox amp head, a jack and a few control wheels. However, I really needed something to plug into late in the evenings because my neighbors don't seem to share my appreciation of music. Looking at the Amplug, on the back, it appears it was Made In Japan. "I thought that's interesting, some of the best effects were manufactured in Japan like the original Tube Screamers and Boss pedals, maybe this would turn out OK".Finally got home, installed the batteries, plugged it in and nothing... The batteries include with any of these devices are usually ready for the recycle bin...

Perfect practice tool!
I have always thought of getting some sort of small headphone amp to plug into my guitar and practice with while lounging on the couch or around the house. When I saw that Vox had made something that fit that description, I wasted no time in ordering this. I have a Vox Tonelab and just love it. This little do-dad is easy to use...thumb wheel controls for Gain, Tone and Volume. There is an Aux jack to plug in a CD or MP3 player to jam along with, and then of course there is the headphone out for your choice of headphones. The analog circuitry inside is said to emulate AC30 amp, and I think it really does sound more like an amp than a tiny headphone amp. The Gain and Tone controls give you a pretty good control on tones either dirty and distorted or chiming and clean. I think you could even take the headphone out of this and go to a recording device to get a different tone for solos or recording projects as something different! My take is that this...

Best bang for your buck!!
First off, you have to realize that 10 watts is not that much wattage. So, I just got it today, and the amp has some great sound to it. The clean is clear, and the distortion is beefy for a 10 watt. It has good treble, and good bass sound, and the balance it amazing. I would recommend it to anybody, of any age, as long as you know it is 10 watts, and not some monster huge amp. Understand the smaller amp you get, the smaller sound you have. Don't be stupid, and assume anything. My son will love this thing, and I love this thing, so it is well worth the money you pay for.

Pretty Decent
I think its a pretty good amp for the price. I needed something cheap and small so this amp was a good choice. The sound is nice and clear, the quality of the actual amp is pretty good too. The only negative thing I found is it the max volume is not very loud. You definitely get a good sound out of it but if your looking for some mega screech amp this is not it.

Does the job.
So this amp is not too bad. Tone is ok, kinda flat. It gets plenty loud for my purposes. Overdrive sounds terrible. But its solid constructed and gets the job done as advertised. for a little practice amp, or for a kid learning..this amp is just right. Don't have high expectations of this amp, its a basic no frills amp.

Guitar Amp

Musicians, are Marshall amps your brand of choice. But, his amps will live on FOREVER. Jim Marshall, who pioneered guitar amplifiers used by some of the greatest names in rock earning him the nickname "Lord of Loud", has died aged 88. Born in London in 1923, Marshall started out as a drummer before going into business and founding Marshall Amplification in 1962.

Whenever you hear a classic guitar riff by Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Cream or Oasis, you're not listening to any old guitar amp. Jim Marshall, the man who pioneered loud guitar amps, has died at the ripe age of 88. Guitar amps aren't our usual field of tech, but this mild-mannered man from London helped change the world when he re-invented them in the 1960s. Put it this way: his amps were loud enough to kickstart a genre called rock, and music was never the same again. Jim took his old hobby of building PA systems and worked with his apprentice Dudley Craven to improve on the meek American amp designs. To use a modern term, Marshall amps 'went viral' and were soon gracing stages around the world. They made guitars sound raw, gnarly and bold, and enabled rock musicians to stun audiences with a true wall of sound for the first time. While the rest of us would settle down and pronounce ourselves business geniuses at that point, Jim decided to invest in a music shop to sell drums and other new-fangled instruments like the electric guitar.

The revered Rock icon, nicknamed the Father of Loud, has long been admired as one of the key pioneers in amplification after he began building amps in the 1960s and founded Marshall Amplification 50 years ago. “In addition to the creation of the amps, chosen by countless guitar heroes and game changing bands, Jim was also an incredibly humble and generous man who, over the past several decades, has quietly donated many millions of pounds to worthy causes. “The Marshall guitar amplifier doesn’t just get louder when you turn it up. It distorts the sound to produce a whole range of new harmonics, effectively turning a plucked string instrument into a bowed one. An official statement reads, “Jim rose to become one of the forefathers responsible for creating the tools that allowed rock guitar, as we know and love it today, to be born.
