Real organ for less
The first thing I must say is that in general I am a purist, and I don't like most electronic instruments. When the church I work for started construction and had to move out of the sanctuary, I had them purchase this organ for me since it's the only one on the market that has classical stops as well as the Hammond and other electronic emulations. I was prepared to not love it but it was the best that could be done without spending from three to ten times more. Then it arrived, I hooked it up to good speakers, and I was absolutely blown away. The Nord Hammond B3 emulation has been lauded by just about everybody, like all of their vintage sounds. With an adjustable speed rotary speaker as well, I feel like I'm playing in a vintage gospel band. I'm less familiar with how the Vox and Farfisa originals sounded, but they're very good sounds to add to your performance palette. What surprised me the most, though, was that this instrument has a 21 stop pipe organ. Not...

The best ever ! ! !
I just got rid of my C1 (which I loved to death) and got the new NORD C2... at first I was worried that the differences would be so minuscule that I was taking a loss, but actually, it's not true... they took an INCREDIBLE product and tweaked it to make it even better... especially in terms of the action. All in all, the sound is incredibly close to a real B3, and the feel is close enough that if you were to play with your eyes shut, you'd really feel like you were at a console, especially if you had the NORD Leslie Half Moon Switch and Pedal Keys 27 hooked up.Key changes include the lay out, which is much more intuitive for B3 users, for example, the Leslie vibrato controls are on the left hand side and percussion settings on the right. Some people complain about the lack of physical drawbars... I change drawbar settings a heck of a lot when I play and find the buttons incredibly responsive if you're willing to develop your technique... If anything,...

HOLY GRAIL OF PORTABLE ORGANS
after spending a little more than a year going from clonewheel to clonewheel, I have finally found my organ.I've tried the old, analogue VISCOUNT OP3, the voce v5+. the voce Micro b, the Voce v3 plus midi drawbars, the Oberhiem ob3 squared,I've used all of them with Voce Spin II rotary simulators, plus the Motion sound Pro 3x,not to mention 2 different Speakeasy tube pre amps. I bought all of these, plus i tried the Korgs, the Rolands,.....none of them measured up to what i remembered over a year ago when i played the Nord electro 3. Well,,,,the Nord C2 is even better. I wasn't too interested in any of the Hammond xk's , or the SK's....I probably would like them too, but I couldn't get the overall desireability of the Nord c2 out of my head. It was just TOO seductive to pass up. I'm burned out on organ modules, synth keybeds, multiple stands, stomp boxes, pre amps, signal chains with up to ELEVEN power cords alone.....I had this set up with my bass pedalboard, roland ev5 expression...

Product Description

Church on Sunday mornings, clubs on Saturday nights. The Nord C2 Organ plays both places just right. Clavia has developed digitally modeled vintage organ models for over a decade, taking each new product version one step closer to perfection. With the introduction of the Nord C2, they raise the performance bar even further with the addition of a baroque pipe organ section-this is the organ for others to compare against. The Nord C2 Combo Organ includes B3 tonewheel organ, a Vox Continental and a Farfisa and a beautiful baroque pipe organ. This makes the C2 an extremely versatile instrument, providing not only rock organ players a new palette of sounds, but also the perfect instrument to use in churches, concert and congregation halls or any other venue where a high quality pipe organ instrument is paramount. The individual tonewheel levels are controlled with our digital drawbars that are just as fast and ergonomic to set up as their physical counterparts. This modern design provides you with the ability to store your favorite settings, to be instantly recalled and edited in real time during a performance. You get the unique opportunity to dial in a new setting with the digital drawbars while playing, without the change taking effect until you say so. Get your fingers on the waterfall type keyboard and you will not only hear, but feel the difference. An ultra fast trigger-to-sound response time in the C2 Combo Organ offers a superior performance compared with any other hardware or software products, just as the originals. Nord has modeled the crucial key click and key release bursts from the mechanical busbar design with its close to 1200 switches. The actual keys themselves have a firm mechanical action to provide you with the rock solid feel of an original vintage instrument. You have direct access to every important function on the panel. Nord believes that a performance is not only about what you play, but how you use an instrument as well. Top to learn more

Best Sounds Out There!
The Electro 3 takes everything that was great about the Electro 2 and improves upon it.Top Improvements:-Enhanced Organ tones - richer, more 'tubey' sounds in the B3 emulation - also additional tone wheel settings (from clean to 'vintage-thrashed')-Additional organ sounds (Farfisa and Vox)-Enhanced Rotary Speaker sound - they took a very good thing and actually made it even more awesome!-Added Reverb options (hall, room, stage - and mixes therein)-Added amp output algorithms - this improves and expands the gain options for all voices-SAMPLE LIBRARY -- this is the biggest new feature - including Mellotron and Chamberlin voices - very, very cool!In Summary, this very portable keyboard now has all the major vintage sounds you could ask for. I am thoroughly impressed, and beyond satisfied!I Highly Recommend this product!

Product Description

With the introduction of the Nord Electro 3, the legacy of the original Electro and the knowhow that have shaped some of the other Nord models have been combined. The Electro 3 features a new organ section, a new piano section, new effects and a new exciting feature that allows the Electro 3 to use any samples from the Nord Sample library. This is the performance keyboard that sets a new standard based on its impressive sound quality. Right from the start, the Electro 3 is loaded with a great selection of pianos. There are three acoustic grands (two Yamaha* C7s and one Steinway* D) and two electric grands. Electric piano aficionados will love the tine-based types; a Mk I, a Suitcase Mk I, a Mk II and a Mk V all with their unique and distinctive personalities. A great Wurlitzer* A200 is of course present, as is the mighty Clavinet* D6. The Clavinet type also includes the Harpsichords. There is a French harpsichord in the factory sound bank, and more to come in the Nord Piano Library download area. Each and every one of these pianos can be replaced if you wish. Not only loaded with great piano sounds, the Electro 3 also sports some great samples to add flavor to your sonic arsenal. You'll find some of the classic Mellotron sounds, a selection of strings, a celeste, a vibraphone and many others. You can add virtually any sound you want to the Nord Electro 3. Sounds that we offer for free are from the Mellotron Library or any other instrument from the expanding and extensive Nord Sample Library, which is the same format as the Nord Wave uses. The Organ Section of the Electro 3 has the best emulation of the soul of a B3 available so far. The attention to minute details is stunning, the Electro 3 is even equipped with four selectable tonewheel modes, that stretches from a clean sound to battered unit with the most dramatic setting; vintage 3. This setting even produces a sound in the background of its own, even if you don't touch any keys. Every function in a B3 has been considered and examined in great detail, to make the Electro 3 as true to the original sound as possible. There are key clicks derived from the original busbar behavior and the energy robbing that produces the gentle compression when you do that massive palm smear across the keyboard. To get the response right, we have included the option to trigger the organ sounds at the very top of a key's range, making it react just as fast as the original. And sometimes we couldn't resist adding functions that went a bit further, like the option to either include or exclude the 9th drawbar when Percussion was activated. The Farfisa* and Vox* models are just as impressive as the B3. The massive savage sound created by their 12-top oscillator frequency-divider designs is of course also a nosample zone in the Electro 3; you have the same behavior and unique response from our models as in the original instruments. Using the Organ Split mode, you can play two different organ registrations in a dual manual fashion, one sound on either side of a user definable keyboard split point. Connect a second MIDI keyboard to the Electro 3, to use the organ split functionality, but in a true, dual manual setup. The Nord Electro 3 is also equipped with a great selection of high quality effects including a lush sounding reverb with five different algorithms. There is also a selection of tremolo, panning, wah-wah, phaser, flanger and chorus effects, and a ring modulator. And, those of you who are picky about the rotary behaviors will be pleased to find several user adjustable settings like speed and acceleration times for both treble and bass rotors. These options, as well as all the other System, MIDI and Sound Menu functions are written on the right side of the panel, a great help for all those moments when the manual decided to stay at home. The Electro 3 comes in two different sizes. The 61 and the 73 have the same type of semi-weighted keyboard with the waterfall profile. This is a great set of keys to play organ and pianos with. Some Good, Some Bad
I sold my Electro 2 so I could partially buy the latest model. After using it a few weeks it's clear how much better it could have been. Here are the good and bad:Good:- New sounds including Vox Continental, Farfisa, harpsichords and samples.- Better Hammond organ sound.- Better piano sounds but they take up a lot of memory and do not have keyboard resonance features of the Nord Stage EX.- Sample software allows you to create your own sounds, organize your patches and is easy to use.- More built-in effects including reverb, compression and 3 different amplifier distortions.- USB (not MIDI) interface to download patches.Bad:- Limiting up/down buttons plus A/B patch selector makes it difficult to get to the sounds you want quickly. The Electro 2 had 8 buttons plus bank up/down which is more useable.- Unergonomic button layout makes navigation difficult. For example, the shift button is too far from the organ presets...

Just a tip
I've noticed a lot of people here were having a hard time finding the right adapter for their specific keyboards, and I've got a solution. You don't actually need to buy a Casio brand adapter to fit your Casio keyboard (matching model numbers can be tricky online). Here's a fool- proof method for finding the right adapter every time;On the back or underside of your keyboard, there should be a voltage rating (which looks like a number followed by 'V'. For example, '9V' or '8V') and a milliamp rating (which looks like a larger number followed by 'mA'. For example, '850mA' or '900mA').With those two numbers, you can find the exact adapter you need. :) For example, my keyboard is rated '9V 850mA', which looks like a bunch of gobbldeygook until you type it into a search engine or show it to a salesperson at any electronics or toy store. Almost all adapters are rated this way and regardless of the manufacturer (i.e. Casio, Yamaha), you'll always get the exact adapter...

Works but not what I was expecting and paid too much
I have a very old Casio "Bank Tone" CT-636 portable keyboard. The AC adatpor was lost and I've been using size D batteries for my son to play the keyboard and that was getting expensive. Finally searched online to find a replacement AC adatpor. According to the spec at the back of my CT-636, it says "DC 9V, 4.5W, uses AC Adaptor AD-5". 9V 4.5W translates to 500mA.I found two such AC adaptor links on Amazon. One says AC Adatpor AD-5. Another says AC Adatpro AD-5MR (9V, 850mA). Since I didn't want to deviate from the spec and the product description for the AD-5 on Amazon included my model (CT-638/CT-636) while the AD-5MR didn't, so I ordered the AD-5 (~$19+shipping) even though it was almost $10 more expensive than the AD-5MR (~$11).The delivery was super fast. I got the AC adatpor 2 days later. HOWEVER, this AC adaptor shipped is actually the AD-5MR (9V, 850mA)!! I plugged it into my CT-636, yes, it works, but had I known they are going to ship me the AD-5MR...
