Product Description
Schoenhut Piano Company has taken the concept of pianos for the very young a step further with this new three-octave Elite Baby Grand. With a keyboard almost half the size of an adult piano, this new model is designed with the three- to nine-year-old in mind. Not just a toy, it is a fine musical instrument and beautiful piece of furniture as well. Unsurpassed in quality, pitch and durability. Baby Grand is crafted entirely by hand and individually tuned. Its chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking metal bars, versus conventional taut wires used in full-sized models.
The lovely toy-piano sound is what makes the Schoenhut charming and unique. Schoenhut's patented Learning System, with its play-by-color teaching method, is designed to make playing fun and easy. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The chart also works on adult keyboards, since keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width. This teaches children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning. The accompanying songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes. This Learning System has been specially designed to build a child's confidence and develop basic playing skills. Measures 27"L x 24"W x 31.5"H. Top to learn more
Manufacturing Problems - IN CHINA
The piano has a happy tinkly sound that will probably annoy those with perfect pitch. My [...] loves making music with it, and I've learned to tap out the "punchline" for Pop Goes The Weasel. This piano is currently using an Ikea table instead of it's own legs. When Santa tried to assemble this on Christmas eve, he discovered many of the holes and threaded inserts required to assemble the piano were absent. I'm trying to figure out how to tell my little guy that Santa will need us to send this back to the North Pole to be fixed. While the manufactuer's website celebrates their factory in Florida, our piano was labled made in China. So don't get suckered into thinking you're buying American made.

Mia's toy piano
This such a lovely toy, my 3 year old daughter just loves to sit at the piano and play. This is such a realistic piano, just perfect for your little one. What a delightful way to bring music into your childs life. I even have the Schoenhut First Piano for my 9 month old.

NO LONGER AMERICAN MADE AND IT SHOWS
On Dec. 9th, we were told Schoenhut wouldn't have these in until Jan. 5th. January 5th they said February 15th. The retailer, CSN Toys and Games, has been great at keeping us informed. They have a date of February 23rd. I called Schoenhut several times only to learn that they are no longer made in America. China is having some problems--no kidding! And they really don't know what to expect. So don't hold your breath. Luckily, we have a real piano which our children love to play. Too bad we've left our tree up for weeks waiting for it. And our son picked out the color as it is a gift from his grandmother. So he keeps looking out the window waiting for the UPS truck to bring it. I cannot help but wonder if they still made the pianos in this country, as advertised on their website, would it be safer and better?
