Conn Organ

Here is a great opportunity to have and to own an impressive pipe organ console to use as is or convert for your own purposes.   1978 Conn 905 in its original Baptist church installation with eight audio channels, ten sets of Conn pipe speakers and a Leslie for the tibias.

They worked well when I was checking the organ out but I have a Leslie 51c 2 speed converted cabinet that plugged right in and it worked flawlessly with the Conn's onboard Leslie controls. I was surprised to see the key contacts like that of a Hammond with the individual bussbars and so. I was thinking of midi-izing this Conn down the road but I dont think I can use the current contacts I sold my 651 last year after studying it... In storage I also have a Hammond C2 and a Conn 632 which is a 61/61/25 with good Conn sounds, but no rhythm unit. The only issues so far that I see with this organ is the pedal stops , except for the 8' tibia are way out of tune. So I decided to just go "look" at this 651 and ended up bargaining with the guy and now I'm the proud owner of a Conn 651. So I have a busy saturday ahead of me Got the organ home saturday morning. Well as I was looking around for a Allen or even a Rodgers midi console to convert to a Hauptwerk VPO project I ran across a ad in CL for this Conn 651 and 2 Leslies for $500. I'll just enjoy the 651 as it is. Strange coincidence, a Hammond repair tech friend of mine called me last night to see about some help on a construction project (add-on to his house) I told him about my new finding and low and behold he has 2-... The manufacturing date on the organ is May 1974. If the 652 features all work, you would be able to use both the Conn sounds plus pipe sampled voices.

I don't think it's the same model, and it may be a little younger than the one in the ad, but it's close enough for me. The cabinet on the model in the video looks to be sixties or seventies, judging by the Early American styling. Here's a nice FaceTube video of a Conn Minuet. Judging by the number of similar videos he's posted, he practices a lot.
