Product Description

The Leblanc Bliss model is a result of the collaboration between Leblanc, Morrie Backun and British clarinet phenom Julian Bliss. The concept of this outstanding instrument is based on the premise that professional players are not the only clarinetists who deserve an instrument with advanced acoustical traits and superior key work. The Bliss clarinet offers the young clarinetist the most state of the art acoustic design by Morrie Backun. The hallmarks of the Backun acoustic design are pure sound, even resistance and stunning intonation. The Leblanc Bliss offer key work that is not only comfortable, mechanically superior and durable; it also has been designed for easier adjustment and repair. The LB210 features Grenadilla wood body, .575" polycylindrical bore, adjustable thumbrest, and Backun wood barrel and bell. It comes with a hard rubber Backun Cadenza mouthpiece and convenient backpack-style case. Top to learn more

Customer Review

GREAT BUY!
I recently met Eddie Daniels and Larry Combs at the Oklahoma University Clarinet Symposium and WOW! They are both amazing characters at what they do. First off, Larry Combs is a classical clarinetist who has been Principle Clarinet in the Chicago Symphony since the early 70's. Eddie Daneils is a Jazz Clarinet player, but yet he still plays classical just as well as Larry Combs. Well, Larry and Eddie met eachother at a Clarinet Convention MANY years ago, and since then they have been great friends. These people are LEGENDARY! They will be in the clarinet recording archives probably until the day I die, which will be a looong time. This album is worth the the money, I suggest it for anyone who is a fan of EITHER or BOTH of these fabulous clarinetists. The Duos by Ignaz Pleytel are phenominol! They are beautiful! And whats even funnier is they play noodles, which is unedited made up on the spot music, which makes the whole experience even more interesting because they just follow each...

Beautiful music and playing, but technically flawed
I just received this CD for my birthday. These are wonderful pieces of music, the best musicians, great playing but ... There is a high frequency noise that is modulated by the music that is exasperating. If I were further away and not listening carefully, I might not notice. Sitting and listening carefully, it was just too annoying to finish. There is just something seriously wrong with the mastering of this CD. These guys are way too good to have something like this overlooked in a released CD. If it were fixed in a re-master, I would buy it again - the music is superb.

Clarinet Leblanc

clarinet, a LeBlanc, saying that it'd need fixed, as the cork. and from what I can find doing the Google-thing, LeBlanc is. iffy as far as being able to tell you anything about their. Growing up, I knew that my Mom had played clarinet while in. HS during the `50's, early `60's, and had been in the band,. I used to play clarinet in HS - not the greatest, but it was. I *THINK* that it's a. Symphonie model, but I don't know - I haven't even been able. to find a basic guide to figuring out the model, etc. be interested in learning how to play it. We had it fixed to the tune of abt $250, and now supposedly.

While I did not buy that particular Leblanc, I have played practically nothing but Leblanc clarinets since. He played beautifully, and naturally, I asked him what he played, and he responded, Leblanc. This was what really sold me on the fact that this Leblanc clarinet, that L27, was truly an excellent instrument. Any of the above conditions were not a consideration when trying this new clarinet, as the sound, or response, seemed to be more contained, and I thought the clarinet more resistant than my Selmers. “How bad can it be” went through my mind, for I had been thoroughly indoctrinated in the fact of Leblancs poor quality. Let’s see, I played a set of L7s, of which I have spoken before, a set of OPus, which were the best of the best, and am now playing an LL. currently in the case under my bed, with the Hawkins #1 mouthpiece witn the 3,5 Forestone reed on the... It was easier to play and much easier to play in tune. We had but a few rehearsals and played repertoire we had played for many performances. He used to come and play a concerto with my orchestra and we would also have a concert of clarinet and piano. I had been trained to play the parts perfectly and I worked into playing with no mistakes because there were no “retakes”. I would play clarinet and he would accompany on the Harpsichord. Each note played was eithin a couple of of cents of exactly 440 throughout the entire clarinet.
