Intro to Organ Registration
This "little" book is so well written it should become a standard for all serious organists. It has an explaination about overtones that has not been matched in any other book I have seen, even physics books. The author clearly explains stops and families of stops so that any one new to organ registration will remember the description. Well priced and well written. I have given the book as a gift to other organists.

Underrated Historic Video
Acknowledging the points well made by the other reviewers, I would like to point out that cranking up the volume on your amplifier to about double will evince enough sound from the disc. It still isn't the greatest Bach recording ever, but gives some idea of the features of the wonderful new organ. The disc jacket claims that the organ used is the Sauer organ of 1889 in the Thomas Church. In fact, the organ used is the Woehl organ dedicated on the 11th of June in the Bach year 2000. Before the end of that year Ullrich Böhme (yes, there is an umlaut) made this recording, which is copyright 2000.The church's official website states: "This new Bach-Organ is based on a 300-year-old instrument, which Johann Christoph Bach, an uncle of Johann Sebastian, designed for the St. Georg Church in Eisenach. In this way, it is similar to the sound quality of the Middle-German organ style of the 18th century, like the famous Silbermann-Organs. The instrument was built by Gerald...

"I'm glad I got this DVD but...."
There are more thrilling organ videos out there...Phillip Delacour and Hans Andre Stamm come to mind. This organ has no ornamentation on the keyboard or stops compared to the organs on the Delacour and Stamm videos. The program is 1/2 chorales and 1/2 Bach's showier more concert type pieces. There are 5 chorales from Orgelbuchlein, plus Jesu meine Freude, Nun Danket alle Gott, Jesu bleibet meine freude, and Vor deinen Thron tret ich hiermit. The concert type pieces are Toccata in d minor BWV565, Prelude and Fugue in A minor BWV543, and Toccata and Fugue in F major BWV 540. The video is good, showing the player's feet on relevant passages, and good video of the organ pipes and placement within the church. I had to turn the volume way up and it still wasn't impressive sound that you would expect from such a great organ.

Real organ for less
The first thing I must say is that in general I am a purist, and I don't like most electronic instruments. When the church I work for started construction and had to move out of the sanctuary, I had them purchase this organ for me since it's the only one on the market that has classical stops as well as the Hammond and other electronic emulations. I was prepared to not love it but it was the best that could be done without spending from three to ten times more. Then it arrived, I hooked it up to good speakers, and I was absolutely blown away. The Nord Hammond B3 emulation has been lauded by just about everybody, like all of their vintage sounds. With an adjustable speed rotary speaker as well, I feel like I'm playing in a vintage gospel band. I'm less familiar with how the Vox and Farfisa originals sounded, but they're very good sounds to add to your performance palette. What surprised me the most, though, was that this instrument has a 21 stop pipe organ. Not...

The best ever ! ! !
I just got rid of my C1 (which I loved to death) and got the new NORD C2... at first I was worried that the differences would be so minuscule that I was taking a loss, but actually, it's not true... they took an INCREDIBLE product and tweaked it to make it even better... especially in terms of the action. All in all, the sound is incredibly close to a real B3, and the feel is close enough that if you were to play with your eyes shut, you'd really feel like you were at a console, especially if you had the NORD Leslie Half Moon Switch and Pedal Keys 27 hooked up.Key changes include the lay out, which is much more intuitive for B3 users, for example, the Leslie vibrato controls are on the left hand side and percussion settings on the right. Some people complain about the lack of physical drawbars... I change drawbar settings a heck of a lot when I play and find the buttons incredibly responsive if you're willing to develop your technique... If anything,...

HOLY GRAIL OF PORTABLE ORGANS
after spending a little more than a year going from clonewheel to clonewheel, I have finally found my organ.I've tried the old, analogue VISCOUNT OP3, the voce v5+. the voce Micro b, the Voce v3 plus midi drawbars, the Oberhiem ob3 squared,I've used all of them with Voce Spin II rotary simulators, plus the Motion sound Pro 3x,not to mention 2 different Speakeasy tube pre amps. I bought all of these, plus i tried the Korgs, the Rolands,.....none of them measured up to what i remembered over a year ago when i played the Nord electro 3. Well,,,,the Nord C2 is even better. I wasn't too interested in any of the Hammond xk's , or the SK's....I probably would like them too, but I couldn't get the overall desireability of the Nord c2 out of my head. It was just TOO seductive to pass up. I'm burned out on organ modules, synth keybeds, multiple stands, stomp boxes, pre amps, signal chains with up to ELEVEN power cords alone.....I had this set up with my bass pedalboard, roland ev5 expression...

Product Description

Church on Sunday mornings, clubs on Saturday nights. The Nord C2 Organ plays both places just right. Clavia has developed digitally modeled vintage organ models for over a decade, taking each new product version one step closer to perfection. With the introduction of the Nord C2, they raise the performance bar even further with the addition of a baroque pipe organ section-this is the organ for others to compare against. The Nord C2 Combo Organ includes B3 tonewheel organ, a Vox Continental and a Farfisa and a beautiful baroque pipe organ. This makes the C2 an extremely versatile instrument, providing not only rock organ players a new palette of sounds, but also the perfect instrument to use in churches, concert and congregation halls or any other venue where a high quality pipe organ instrument is paramount. The individual tonewheel levels are controlled with our digital drawbars that are just as fast and ergonomic to set up as their physical counterparts. This modern design provides you with the ability to store your favorite settings, to be instantly recalled and edited in real time during a performance. You get the unique opportunity to dial in a new setting with the digital drawbars while playing, without the change taking effect until you say so. Get your fingers on the waterfall type keyboard and you will not only hear, but feel the difference. An ultra fast trigger-to-sound response time in the C2 Combo Organ offers a superior performance compared with any other hardware or software products, just as the originals. Nord has modeled the crucial key click and key release bursts from the mechanical busbar design with its close to 1200 switches. The actual keys themselves have a firm mechanical action to provide you with the rock solid feel of an original vintage instrument. You have direct access to every important function on the panel. Nord believes that a performance is not only about what you play, but how you use an instrument as well. Top to learn more

As the Gazette previously reported, First Baptist was being nudged to move the organ out of its six-year home at the vacant former Blessed Sacrament Church on Centre Street. ” While Mark’s provided free moving, the church did have to hire organ experts to help, Wiest-Laird said. Wiest-Laird said that First Baptist received several generous local offers to store the organ, including from JP’s Arborway Auto, but that Mark’s offered the best situation. As for the renovation of the sanctuary, First Baptist recently issued a request for proposals for local organizations to partner in creative re-use of the sanctuary space.
