Solution to the Adapter Problem
Prior to ordering this item, i read most of the reviews. The common problem seems to be the adapter that comes with this package. It isnt the original Casio adapter, and this seems to cause equipment failure if used. This is what I did and recommended for you to do as well:Rather than getting this package where the keyboard, adapter (generic), and keyboard stand come together, go to the listing on Amazon that just sells the keyboard alone. Then on that same page, it gives you the option to add the adapter and keyboard stand to the purchase. I believe the total then comes out to $129 altogether. This is $10 more than the listing where the give you the package deal with the generic adapter. I personally feel its worth spending an extra $10 to get the original casio adapter rather than using the generic which the casio instruction manual says not to use (or else risk equipment failure).I just purchased it in the way I mentioned above, got in the mail last week, and...

Excellent for the Price
This is a REALLY good value for the price (I paid $128). The headphones took a while to figure out how to use, but the quality of the rest of the set more than makes up for that. I didn't realize when I bought this, but it's a teaching keyboard and has a number of songs programed into it that it will break down and teach you to play. You can also hook it up directly to your computer or radio and download songs onto it that way. Not to mention the volume control.So. Amazing.

Excellent Keyboard for the Price
I was completely satisfied with this purchase in every way. I picked up this item for $99.00 including the AC adapter, jamstand and headphones and got Free Shipping. Everything arrived in 3 days of my online order in excellent condition via FedEx. I am a beginner and learning to read music, this keyboard teaches and reinforces all those skills. It is light and easy to transport. The stand was quick and easy to assemble. Everything was well-packaged, easy to find and remove from the box. I was all set up and ready to play in about 15 min. My church is planning on picking up 4 more at this price for the music program. Highly recommend this item.

Customer Review

I love my Casio
This little keyboard is great, it's compact so I can take it anywhere I want. The sound (to me anyway) is good, very responsive when each key is press. Their are many features as well such as 10 Song Bank,50 Patterns,100 tones, tempo, and great volume control. It even has a small LCD so you can see the notes your hitting. The keyboard does not come with batteries or a AC Adapter,(I brought this in my JR Music store in NY and they told me next month or maybe in the distant future you will be able to purchase one for it. It takes 6 batteries I don't care for an adapter because I use rechargeable batteries and don't want to be stuck in one place when playing. I'm new to pianos and this will be a very good beginner one for me or even kids might love it as well, but an adult can use it if they don't want to carry a big heavy one with them everywhere they go, The back of the keyboard is orange and the front is black so I really like the colors on it and the design. If your new to pianos...

Cool little keyboard!
This keyboard fits into my slightly larger backpack. Its portability allows me to carry it around and work out melodic and harmonic ideas for the songs I write when I'm away from home. The eight-note polyphony is really helpful for chording.A problematic issue exists with the Casio SA-75 power adaptor that is advertised as an optional accessory on the Amazon page that features the keyboard. The adaptor isn't compatible because the jack-end doesn't fit into the 9.5 volt terminal on the back of the keyboard. The manual claims the six batteries required to operate the keyboard will last for about six hours, though.I contacted the seller of the SA-75 adaptor and they told me that the correct adaptor for the SA-76 keyboard won't be available until December 2010.The tones are clear and reasonably distinctive, perhaps slightly less so in the brass. The rhythm patterns cover all the basics, and there's more than enough volume control to play with. All in...

Buy The Right Adapter
The other reviews do a good job covering the size, sound, and features... so I'm skipping those. The overall package is reasonable for the price. The only draw back to this little keyboard is the missing power adapter. It wouldn't be so bad if the description or technical specs provided clear documentation to assist in locating an adapter that would work. Since this information is lacking, I've taken the liberty to do a little research and provide some direction. The hard part identifying a suitable adapter is decoding the adapter specs. While the voltage and amperage are usually easy to decipher, the jack size is almost always a convoluted mess to discern. Companies may or may not employ standard jacks based on voltage. In this case everyone is fortunate Casio employs a standard "L" receiver jack. For more info on jack sizes use RadioShack's Adaptaplug conversion matrix: [...].Knowing the voltage and jack type makes finding a suitable power adapter easy. The...

great teaching tool for kids
I bought this item to teach my kids how to play the piano. Since we live in a fairly small space, I thought it would be a great alternative to a regular upright piano. I love the touch, much better than the CTk 700 which my kids had before. This one is so much better! I love this piano and I love using it to teach my kids how to play.

Entry level keyboard for children
I'm a piano teacher, specializing in teaching very young beginners. I sympathize with parents who ask me if they really have to invest in a traditional piano for a 5- or 6-year-old who might not really like the instrument after a few lessons. So I am willing to teach on an electronic keyboard, and for several years, I've recommended the CTK-700, which for around $100 at Target or Walmart offered full-size keys and a reasonable "touch".I do warn parents that a beginner will NOT advance as quickly on a keyboard as they do on an acoustic piano, and I encourage parents to find even a terrible upright as soon as possible if their children maintains interest in the instrument. However, remember that traditional pianos require tuning twice yearly, and around $200 moving fee when you buy or sell...if you are the average parent struggling to make ends meet, I can understand the reluctance to make this kind of investment on top of weekly piano lessons. To my knowledge,...

Where's The AC Adapter?
The keyboard is pretty much what I expected. It's a fun instrument with enough keys for 2-handed playing, and the 400 "voices" and other features provide a lot of varied entertainment. I got this to use in an RV and to take to social gatherings. The sound quality is satisfactory, and is better than some other small keyboards. However, it is not comparable to a real piano, either in touch or sound. My only disappointment is the absence of an AC adapter, which is supposed to be included, according to the product description. I have ordered an adapter and a sustain pedal. The former is cheaper than replacing 6 AA batteries every 4 playing hours, and the latter produces a significant improvement in the sound quality. PS: If you plan to walk into Radio Shack for an adapter, take the keyboard with you. They have many choices, and it would be easy to make a mistake.

Very satisfied with this keyboard
This keyboard is well worth the money. Especially with the stand, power supply and headphones being included. It has 570 built in sounds. You can use the split keyboard option and the layer option with all of the sounds. The keyboard even comes with 2 song books with songs for people of all skill levels. All of the songs in the books are also loaded on the keyboard, so you can play along if you want.I downloaded the data manager from the Casio website. It allows me to save the data onto a PC. I loaded it onto my netbook. I sampled some sounds from my virtual synths I use in Cakewalk Music Creator and some work better than others but it does allow you to add some cool synth sounds. The sampled sounds are erased if you unplug the power supply and you have no batteries in the keyboard. But I can take my notebook with me to upload the sampled sounds to the keyboard before a gig or rehearsal. There are a lot of features and the manual could be a bit better. That's...

Can't ask for more!
We got this unit to allow the children to learn to play the piano. We are fortunate to have an instructor who comes to the house. It worked right out of the box without much set up. To my completely untrained ears it sounds like a real piano. It's sturdy and professional looking and has quite a few buttons we've yet to explore. The headphones are a mother's dream! The different tones and songs are a blast for the children. We've had lots of dance parties. It was a good price for our budget. The instructor himself thought it was a fine instrument and said it would take the children far into their lessons.

Great Keyboard!
I just ordered this keyboard for our family to learn how to play the piano. I did a lot of research & while I was nervous about buying without playing it first, I was very happy with the features for the price. Would love if it had weighted keys, but that is a whole other price range that will hopefully come after a few years of playing.Pros: It was easy to set up! The stand took about 10 minutes to put together and we were playing. It's also very easily adjustable for different heights. I liked that it came with the AC adapter (most keyboards suprisingly do not). Great features & fabulous sound on the grand piano. My kids have not stopped playing it since we opened the box. It came all packaged neatly together with 2 song books that match the songs played by the keyboard. I used to know a few of them by memory & have forgotten, so it'll be a great way to refresh & improve my piano skills. Also like that it has the earphone, mic, sustain pedal & usb connections in...

Best thing since sliced bread!
Honestly now. I have the Casio Privia piano, which can use 2 pedals. I bought 2 of these pedals to try and they work great. The one major complaint I've always had with non traditional pianos is the cheap tiny pedals every company gives you. Plus they give you only 1 at that.Say goodbye to those tiny boxes, pretending to be pedals, slipping and sliding out from under your feet. These are real full size piano pedals and are heavy enough to stay put even without the non slide bottoms. I've had mine 3 months now and have not had to climb under my piano once looking for and sorting out which pedal is which...they simply stay put!JulyThe more I use these little wonders the more I love them.

Works with my Yamaha Keyboard
I am using this pedal with a Yamaha YPT-200 keyboard and it is compatible. It worked from the start and responds as I expect it to. It has the feel of a real piano pedal. (I'm not an expert, but I have played on acoustic pianos in the past.)I like the weight and the rubber bottom, because they allow the pedal to stay put. No problems for me.

Designed to work and feel just like an acoustic pianos sustain pedal, it has a specially designed rubber bottom that grips the floor and stays put while you play.

Feels as good as an acoustic piano pedal.

One Pedal for All
The SP-2 is a universal sustain pedal with polarity switch for compatibility with all electronic keyboards. Its classic design with rubber-coated shell and chrome foot pedal make it as attractive to the eye as it is comfortable for the foot. The M-Audio SP-2 Sustain Pedal is built around a heavy-duty mechanism that makes it long lasting and durable, no matter how much pressure you like to use.

With the kind of soft resistance a full-sized piano pedal gives, the SP-2 feels just like playing an acoustic piano. Great...if you have the room under your keyboard
I had been using the 'pedal' which came with the keyboard for the Privia px-100 keyboard which is nothing like a pedal on a normal piano. I purchased the M-Audio pedal to replace it.At first I was thrilled with this pedal, but when I bought a stand for my digital piano I discovered a problem. This pedal is very long, 10.5". With the stand against the wall there was no room to push the pedal far enough back to place into a normal playing position. I had to move the stand about 8 inches from the wall to put the pedal into place. Before buying just beware of how you have/want to arrange your keyboard and be sure you'll have the room to use the pedal comfortably.

Awesome
This keyboard is beautiful. The keys feel smooth and responsive and so far it's been a very pleasant experience. This comes with a real Casio-brand power supply, which is great, and the stand is pretty sturdy (it will rock a little bit if I shake it, but I notice no instability while using the keyboard). Also, once I hooked up an A-to-B USB cable (not included), it was immediately recognized by my iMac. I've messed around a little bit in GarageBand and it flawlessly captured my playing. At one point I even got it to play the sound through GarageBand instead of the keyboard (this would be useful in a couple instances). I'm not sure what triggered that, though.I do have some criticisms, of course:1) The contrast of the numbers and text aren't very high against the black, so a light will probably be necessary to find the right buttons at first (though you may want one for sheet music anyway)2) The tone selection button doesn't light up like the rhythm and song...

Very content
All I really wanted when I was purchasing a keyboard was to be able to practice the piano in my own room without bothering my roommates. This purchase was exactly what I needed because the package came with headphones, the stand, and an adapter. I was able to start playing immediately after I set it up. I have enjoyed using it every day since!Of course it's not a real piano, so the touch-sensitive keys aren't as good, the clicking of the keys when you press on them is a bit noisy, and the feel is a little different, but I adjusted easily and it hasn't been an issue.
