Beautiful brass bell!
I hadnt visualized the size of the bell! It could be used for a country school bell but its terrific in a sick room! Its 3.75in across and 7" high means EVERYONE will come running! But yes, you can ring it softly too. Seems a terrific value. The handle is a hardwood, mahogany I think and its coated to protect the brass. Ive had it for over a year and it still looks new. It really is beautiful and it looks great on my desk!

Great product

Product Description

This is a solid brass ship's bell, 6" wide across the mouth. The bell itself stands another 6" tall, with a total height of 8" from additional height from the wall mount when mounted. It is of a heavy enough gauge of brass to be able to be used both indoor or out. The clapper is also made of solid brass with a beautifully knotted rope bell pull attached to it.

The bell has a nice, sharp edge to the top of the bell and decorative pinstripes along the lower edge that contrasts well with the clean curve of the rest of the bell. 'U.S. Navy' is deeply engraved into the side of the bell.

This beautiful bell is new, with no problems.

Good looks, weak voice
Pros:-Exterior finish is well polished and free of scratches, blemishes, etc...-Well packaged for shipment-The rope pull is nicely doneCons:-Weak sound. Partly because it is only a 6" bell, but also due to thickness of material-Included mounting bracket, but no hardware to attach bracket to wall-Hardware used to attach rope pull to clapper, and clapper to bell, is cheaply doneOverall, I thought the price was fair for what I received. If you want a small bell that looks good and will only rarely (if ever) be rung then this should work well for you. Ours gets rung on a near daily basis (whenever we close a sale) and I would prefer something with a richer sound, even if cost a bit more.

Rope fell off on first pull
Got this for work to be our 'good news bell'. First time I used it, the rope came off in my hand because it was connected to the ringer with a cheap piece of wire. A little modification and the bell can be rung with rigor. But 2 stars deducted for the embarassment of the first ring...

I’d only been to the Brass Bell during the day and generally for lunch so the idea of seeing a band perform there was a little new to me. I’d heard whispers of the venue being an excellent place for live performances, but never imagined the place... listeners on air, my friends, family and sometimes total strangers to attend gigs and support local bands, as much as I organise for members of the HGOR team to go out into the glittery streets of Cape Town to attend said gigs and support said... I was re-introduced to the local gig scene when I went to the Brass Bell (Kalk Bay Main Road, right by the ocean. The Brass Bell allows its patrons the freedom to jig about to the band as well as the space to sit back, have a beer and chat with your mate. The Brass Bell is definitely doing something right. They have reasonably priced alcohol, a kitchen that stays open till 23h00 (I’m open to correction on that though) and provide a platform for local bands that all the cool kids are listening to perform.

The Brass Bell: Or, The Chariot of Death, a Tale of Caesar's Gallic Invasion by Eugène Sue . The Brass Bell is the second of a series of 19 novels called The Mysteries of the People. The Brass Bell , written down by Joel's son Guilhern, tells the story of Julius Caesar's conquest of Gaul at the Battle of Vannes in Brittany from the Gallic point of view. I'll just say it: I personally don't like Egyptian art, statuary, or artifacts. Specifically, I've been exploring Kabbalah and the 10 Sefirot, which have several parallels with Netjer (Sutekh very much epitomizes "Gevurah"). You'll notice (I'm assuming) the lack of anything typically 'Egyptian-looking' and I've gotten a lot of comments (even flack, sometimes) about this.
