Informative and fun to read
This is a great little handbook that's also fun to read. I would highly recommend for those who are just beginning to collect. Or maybe you just inherited some of Aunt Mildred or Uncle Bob's "junk" jewelry. You'll be surprised at what's valuable and what's not. I found that this book was a very interesting read as well as being a pretty good resource. Plus (and I think this is a big one) it's small enough to take with you when you're looking so you don't HAVE to memorize all those trademarks!!

A Must Have for Collectors, Jewelry Dealers, & Beginners
I found this book to be invaluable as both a collector and jewelry dealer on Trocadero. I write my jewelry descriptions every day with this book sitting at my side. A very good idea to carry it with you while going shopping for your treasures. If you are a beginner putting a collection together, it is a must have.

Wish we had discovered this a long time ago
Our family uses butter. Hate margarine and do not believe that it is "more healthy" for you. (Come on--it is only a molecule away from being plastic.)At any rate, we moved to Arizona. Yes, it is nice and warm here. Not practical to leave butter out on a dish because it will just melt by noon. Always was frustrating to have to keep butter in the fridge and pull it out and scrape shavings off to spread on toast or what have you. We were wondering if there was some nifty gadget that would keep butter spreadable but not melted.After searching on Amazon, we found butter crocks. I'm sure they've been around for a long time, but we were ignorant of their existence. It works like a charm. Very easy to maintain. We now have spreadable butter all day long in any temperature! Like I said, I wish we had discovered this thing a long time ago.My wife loves the design and color. There are other brands and designs out there, so take your pick. But this one is...

Buttertastic
So this beautiful device solves the modern, first world problem of butter being too cold to spread well on toast after it has been in the fridge. You stuff butter into the top of the butter bell, add 1/3rd cup of water to the bottom part to create a hermetic seal, and viola, your butter will be room temperature for the weeks to come. I recommend using salted butter instead of unsalted butter, as salted butter will allow for safer food storage under these conditions.

Beautiful AND functional!
It's gorgeous in person, nice and thick and sturdy feeling, and easy to use since it came with instructions. It won't keep your butter fresh longer than 2 weeks, so I would only put a little in there unless you will use it up. We learned that lesson the hard way.

Lovely Bells
I had purchased bells like this in a quaint New England hardware store 24 years ago. I have had so many friends ask where to buy them and was never able to find anything like them....until now. These bells are EXACTLY like my original ones. They have a wonderful, happy sound as soon as my front door is opened. This nice part is I can be anywhere in the house and if anyone opens or tries to open my door, I hear it. They make for an unusual gift as well.

delightful sounds evoke old fashioned memories
The product is exactly what I was looking for but couldn't find because I did not know what the correct name was for it. "That bell 'thingy' that used to hang on shop doors" just didn't cut it when searching for the product. Once I knew to look for "shopkeepers bell" it was easy. This product is well made of real brass and is practical as well as beautiful. I only gave it a four star because I had to figure out how to keep the top on as it tends to unscrew as the bells(there are three) rotates. Ended up drilling a very, very small hole in the top and screwing in a brass screw to secure the top. One injured finger later the bell was mounted and delightfully announces whomever uses my back door--much better than the alarm buzzer that comes with the alarm system. If you don't want the bells to ring just put a piece of tape on the hanging pendulum and silence reigns. Couldn't be better. This would be great for a busy family trying to keep track of just where the kids are!!!
